This is ridiculous. Have you seen Gaborik since the trade? He's been injured and hasn't produced for CBJ all that well. The guy is on a decline. The trade was good. Brassard is a good player, who is younger, cheaper, and plays a more important position.

I'm glad Nash is starting to get going finally and helping the team, obviously been playing much better then last 10 or so games, but I still don't and never have liked the way he carries himself most of his time in NY. Idk just don't care for him. Just seems so lackadaisical and like he doesn't care to be around 8 games out of 10. Maybe being named to Team Canada actually woke him up somehow.

Hard to count a shortened season. He pro-rated to 39 goals last year. In fact, he's only not pro-rated to 30 goals or more over 82 twice in his career. Once was his rookie season. The other time was 2006-07, and he pro-rated to 29.52 over 82 games. Besides last season, those are also the only two years he hasn't actually scored 30.

Good to see him picking it up. Hopefully he continues it after the Olympics. As go Lundqvist and Nash, so will go the Rangers. It's no coincidence that his improved play combined with Lundqvist's come with more wins.

He got swept scoring only one goal in his first playoff series with CBJ. He's 0/2 and he just plays like a loser. No heart. When asked about his playoffs last year he said he thought he did well. He doesn't give a ****.

He had 1 goal and 2 assists against a dominant Detroit team that went to the Cup final for a 2nd year in a row and probably should have won the whole thing. That's 3 points in 4 games against a juggernaut. How did HE get swept? There are a bunch of other players on that team and they were outmatched. Marion Hossa got swept by the Rangers (a much weaker team than Detroit) in 07 and did nothing, ditto Kovalchuk. Sometimes I wonder if people actually believe what they're writing here or just hope that people won't notice their BS arguments.

Prust was de facto homegrown. He was a nobody until we plucked him up and put him out there. As for the general concept of homegrown, I guess you didn't follow the Rangers during the dark ages. As for Nash, he's a ***** all the time but he is a 30-40 goal scorer in the reg season, but when the playoffs come around he becomes a 10 goal scorer. Astounding how some of you can defend that. Talk about agendas. He's been a bad playoff performer. That's fact.

If either of those two players were so essential to our chemistry that we had none left by replacing them with Nash and a free agent, then we didn't have any worthwhile to begin with.

We directly lost 2 NHL players from it. You don't get to subtract 1 from that number. That doesn't make any sense. We lost two of our guys from that trade directly. Then comes Nash with his bloated cap hit and we lose more guys indirectly from the trade due to free agency.
