Nash playing with heart and balls tonight. Great game.

The more I watch him the more I give him a pass for his lack of scoring. I mean if Crosby can get shut down in the playoffs why is it not understandable for another teams #1 goal scorer who has to face top D pairings to not score either.

Carter Williams Kopitar are all lighting it up....As well St Louis and Richards and for some reason Nash gets a pass for "playing hard".

the people bashing Nash for today's game either doesn't fully understand the sport or never played it.
I played for 20+ years and I knew that he has sucked this entire post season unless you have the lowest expectations possible.

Most hockey fans have "played the game" but that doesn't mean ****. I've played with a million hockey players and most do not understand the game.

Rick Nash was excellent tonight. He was totally engaged, throwing the body, creating chances. He set up Kreider for that one that hit the post. He had that drive to the net. He was all over the place.

I was hard on Nash earlier this season but I have 0 complaints about his game tonight. He skated, made plays, threw the body, and created chances.

Agreed, thought he was great. He almost looked like the 2013 regular season Nash.

And not shockingly, had nothing to show for it. 0 goals, 0 assists, -1, and more importantly 0 wins.

brilliant insights.

please, tell us more.

Why? His play has done the talking for him. At the end of the day, he might have done some small things well tonight, but he was brought here to score and help the team win, especially in the playoffs. Tonight, and this series he has done none of that thus far. We have dropped two games and he hasn't registered a single point. That means that exactly 0 of his plays have lead to a positive (and tangible) impact on this team. He might have almost set some up or almost did this or that, but he is getting out played (based on actual production) by pretty much everyone on the team including 4th liners and career journeymen. That's not something you want out of your so called star player. I'm sorry if you feel differently.

This. I'm sorry, but a $7.8 million defensive specialist is not what this team needs. Dom Moore does it for 1/7th the price. Enough of this "generating offense" and score the ****ing puck.

Nash is not a big game player. He just isn't and it's maddening to watch him and all the excuses that are made for him. Enough.

Exactly....based on expectations he sucked. He sucked extra hard on the 4-4 goal and in OT. I dont care if he had 23 shots. Hes gotta score with his contract and prescribed role.

Like Brown MSL Kopitar lol even Richards are all doing.

In my opinion, I don't think his line mates are doing it for him. Look at what Gaborik is doing with talent on either side.

Quick made a pretty good blocked save in the first couple minutes on Nash

Yes, he did but the guy does not ever take over a game on offense like other players do. Do you think teams even game plan for him anymore?? I honestly am not sure.

He is always just there and with how much cap space he takes up, he needs to do more. He needs to bury something meaningful.

Nash was fine. He didn't win us the game, but he sure as hell didn't lose it for us either. Right now, offensively, he hesitates too much. He needs to stop thinking and get the puck to the net. Stop trying to butt check and deke 3 defenders. Just drive to the net! If this is the furthest you will get in your career than you might as well just deal with the risks that come with driving to the net. Right now is the time to not hold back in fear of getting injured again!

He has not won us any game in any playoff series dating back to last year.
