Very weird. There's no way Lewis will be out of the lineup (unless he's banged up), as he's been playing very well and Sutter really likes him. And the Kings would not bring up Toffoli for "depth" purposes. That's what a guy like Anthony Stewart is for.

No. Toffoli is the Kings' best prospect (by a long shot) and I don't think Dean would trade him under any circumstances.

I heard there were alot of scouts on Saturday at the game, probably for Iggy. Bringing up Toffoli and playing him can be to showcase him as well. We traded Schenn, it's not like DL wouldn't do it for the right piece.

The right piece isn't a rental. He dealt parts of his young core for players in their prime who are locked up. Iginla isn't that player.

But that was a special situation, because we needed a #2 center badly. We don't have any glaring needs at the moment, and Dean has expressed that he wants to re-stock the farm. I could see him dealing picks for rental players with expiring contracts at the deadline, but dealing Toffoli, in my opinion, is unlikely.

I would love to keep Toffoli long term, but I think D.L would trade his first born if it helps the team at this point. Interesting to see how this plays out. No way Lewis is being punished.

I agree with the fact that its not like DL would never move him, However I do not think he called him up just to showcase him.
Every team has scouts everywhere. Other teams know what he has been doing in the AHL.

I follow the Kings closely so calling up Toffoli just doesn't make sense unless someone is hurt. You don't take out Lewis right now. Playing great! I originally thought Richards injury was a little more serious. Doesn't sound like it. So why would you call up Toffoli? Where there is smoke theirs fire. Keep in mind Sutter's and Iggy's relationship. From my knowledge they're pretty close still.

Maybe Richardson was lonely and wanted another forward to skate with after the team leaves the ice.

The Kings have 6 games in 9 nights with travel (sames time zone), so maybe they just wanted an extra forward with the team in case of injuries/rest. Manchester is a long way for an emergency recall. This way Toffoli will be acclimated with the team if he is needed.
