Why wasn't Miller fined?

Because he didn't say anything bad about the league's golden organization and their two Golden Superstars.

They're not even comparable, IMO. I don't think the league rightfully fined Tortorella, but it's obvious that his fine was due to insulting the Pens. Miller's comments are strictly profane, and have no intentions of calling another organization or players out.

Take a look at what Bettman said about Tortorella's comments:

It seems he was more concerned about things other than cursing.

Wow. Just wow. People should never question claims that Cindy gets special treatment from the league. That just proves it.

He didn't badmouth the organization. He just swore. Torts has sworn tons of times in interviews and hasn't been fined.

Except in the article I link Bettman said it was for swearing....

http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/stor...-playoffs-2012

...... are you telling me that was a lie?:sarcasm:

That's the entire point of me posting this. There has been tons a f-bombs dropped in interviews since then with no fine. Why did the NHL lie back then and say it was for swearing and not for what it really was, calling out the Penguins organization and it's whiny stars?

Bettman point blank said the torts fine was for cursing, not for being mean to the pens. However, obviously the nhl doesn't always fine players or coaches for cursing, hell torts cursed a bunch of other times throughout the year and his career without being fined for doing so. So the only conclusion to draw was Bettman's official reason for the fine wasn't the real reason for the fine. I think we can all fill in what the real reason might be...

Despite the fact that the league told the public one thing and punished him for another, I absolutely love that interview. I re-watched it twice since the video has been posted. I'm just happy that someone finally had the balls to say it!

I was on Torts side during this interview. When you watch the Pens sometimes you'll see that some guys are too afraid of touching Crosby. Guys won't even take a penalty hooking him. I thought the fine was BS.

The video of Sid's response to the comments was annoying. And like that is said without as much Ranger bias as possible

Say what you will about Dubi, but who was the first person in there after Sid shoved Hank? Seems like a really good teammate

If Hitler, bin Laden, and Crosby were in a room and I had a gun with two bullets, I'd shoot Crosby, leave the room, hunt down Malkin, and then beat the ever living **** out of Lemiuex.

There's no doubt the Penguins, with Crosby and Malkin, are held to a different standard than the rest of the league. I can't for example get the game earlier this season, when Malkin tried to tomahawk chop Marc Staal's head and hit him in the helmet, out of my mind. There wasn't even called a penalty, other than a minor on both guy for the scrum, on the play, and god forbid the league would take a look at that after the game. Any other player swung his stick like that would have been suspended. There were no accident here.
