Retire Steen's #20?

Should the Blues at some time in the near or distant future retire #20?

To me, Steen was an every day any role you need player. He could score and was a key defensive cog. He was a leader on the team and in the lockerroom.

As a I typed in another thread, he is the quintessential Blues player. The epidemy of a Blue (blue color hard worker - just the way we as fans want our players to be).

However, retiring a Jersey should be reserved for players who were Franchise Changers (not even franchise players) - I don't know that he changed the franchise or brought in fans. I wouldn't have retired Pronger's. Great player, franchise Dman, Hall of Famer, but not retirement worthy.....

Retiring a Jersey should be reserved for the highest honor. Beyond the Hall of Fame kind of stuff and should absolutely include work beyond what was on the ice.

Steen was a very good player, but not one of the very best in the league or the best couple on his team. So he wasn't worthy of having his number retired. He was a great team player, giving his all, and a very good player for a lot of years. So his number should be recognised and should be honoured. His name and number should hang from the rafters, as should Backes' and Tkachuk's. I think that Pietrangelo's should be retired eventually.
