I don't think there's as much of a difference as you're perceiving. Crawford is bent at the waist, Quick is standing straight up.

I agree. I had a really hard time even noticing a differencce. Looked essentially identical pad size, just different poses.

Yeah, you can't fairly judge except if they're posed side by side. Position, angle, and distance all have a huge impact

Are goalies required to wear throat guards?

I think only the CHL does. I know CHL goalies can't wear the "cat eye" masks most pros wear but I'm not positive on throat guards though.

Also talking to my brother this weekend and he reminded me of something. Any other hockey players out there that remember this attempt to stretch the rules regarding equipment?

Giguere got his Conn Smythe because his pads made him look invincible.

Anyone that even tries to argue that Giguere wasn't a FREAKING BEAST that year is just asinine.

One of the greatest goalie performances I've ever seen. Yeah, I actually went to most of the games.

Sorry I didn't whaaaaaaaaa ducks with you.

I think this will hurt the taller goalies (Bishop) more than the shorter ones.
Can anyone shed any light into Bernier's pads? I think it will also hurt Butterfly goalies.
