Eh, im in my 30’s. Been watching hockey my whole life. The product has fallen off a cliff. The soft euros arent entertaining. The theo fleurys, sean averys, matt barnabys and matt rempes are.
The game would be better if they were allowed to stick bayonets on the blades of their sticks. But frickin' woke soft Gen Z's won't stand for it.

As someone who loves brawls and animosity, Barnaby and Rempe aren't NHL material.

Rempe can barely skate, can't fight.

Guy is a plug in the AHL.

I bought into the hype when Rempe came into the league because it was nice to see a young guy be able to throw them with other heavyweights. He also showed a little offensive touch so I didn't see him as one of those pointless, mouth-breathing enforcers.

I've since learned that he is indeed a pointless, mouth-breathing enforcer.

Get this dork out of the league.

Can we start a poll with how many games it takes for him to do this again?
He's historically been super docile vs the Devils, so...
Less than one full game?

He could eventually get to more suspension games than actually played games.

Dude's claim to fame is being called up every two to three games, punch a face, then get game misconduct and suspensions. His career path will be very short.
Which f***ing sucks, because at times last year he looked like a potentially serviceable NHL player. And while this season hasn't followed the same path, that Dallas game was very good from him up until that hit.

But the leash is getting shorter, at least with the league. And it should get shorter with the Rangers as well.

Yea i loved the physical era of the nhl but what rempe does isn't even hockey he just goes out there and assaults people.

Their defense is that he's popular. Well you could put a sumo wrestler out there that skates around and sits on everyone and the crowd would love it. But it's a sideshow, not hockey.

Crappy league. They’re so worried about a rookie who hits a little too hard because they don’t want anyone tough in the league and not concerned about why their product is so mediocre and is on the decline year after year. What a sad state of affairs the NHL is.
If the league needs more Matt Rempe's to survive, it's already in way more trouble than any of us would've thought.

Should be the end of his NHL career. I truly don't comprehend why a clown like Rempe gets multiple NHL games worth of runway despite not looking like professional athlete. I'd be pissed off if I was a guy on Hartford and had to watch this joke of a player get called up for 20+ NHL games. Brings literally nothing of value to his team or to the sport.

I'm in my early 40s and have been watching and acting hockey longer than you have been alive. They game is the best it has ever been.

Guys like Rempe should go find their goon league and leave the real hockey to players who have some actual hockey skill.

Big hits and fights are awesome, but if that's the only part you find entertaining maybe WWE/UFC are more your style.

Worst Case, Ontario
Figured it would be 7-10 games, strong message needed to be sent before he does something to impact/ruin a career.

I like the physical play and fighting. When he came into the league I was all for it, here's a throwback that can carry on the tradition on the enforcer. He has to start carrying himself with more respect and tone down the recklessness. There is no end to the respect he can earn in the game by playing hard and being willing to tango with anyone - but the blatantly ugly cheap hits need to stop. Hopefully he gets the message now and can figure it out. Other guys have earned a rep for a time and then learned to toe the line.
