In Immaculate grid I was finally able to put my favourite random guy in as there was a grid for Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs.

My first NHL game (and so far only one in North America, rest of them have been Finnish games) was between the aforementioned teams. Before the game the board told the facts that both teams had one player in the game who had played for the opponent.

Serowik was with Penguins that day, having played one game for Leafs eight years before that. Former Penguin on the Leafs was much more typical NHL journeyman, Garry Valk.

For fun, I went with first round picks who didn't sign with the team. Heisten and Umberger used the NCAA loophole to become UFAs. I tried to use Nick Boynton whom Washington drafted 9th overall in 1997, but Puckdoku said that was incorrect. Possibly because he got re-drafted in the 1st round in 1999 by Boston.

The Kings trading Marty McSorley for Shawn McEachern then several months later trading McEachern+Tomas Sandstrom for McSorley+Jim Paek still haunts me.

Phoenix traded Deron Quint to the Devils at the 2000 trade deadline. Quint played a handful of games for the Devils before getting kicked off the team. It was rumored he showed up hungover for a practice. That indiscretion might have cost him getting his name on the Cup. Lou traded Quint to Columbus after the season.
