Remembering Better Times

Do y'all remember the game in Detroit where we came back and Bubba Berenzweig scored the gig? Newspsper headline was Big Night for Bubbas, which was just perfect.

I remember he was the Pred that came for the opening day of the LaVergne roller rink. There were only two adult teams that season and we were the first game.

Not necessarily my first game, but I remember the old old Preds official boards before they shut down. That was a fun time too.

Corey Perry and the gnomes (all started by me and my brother and some friends sitting between the benches and Perry being obsessed with that garden gnome.

Joel Ward was a dude a loved on our team. A 4th/3rd line guy I could could get behind. Unlike Cousins or Smith or McCarron

Seeing Paul Kariya undress his former team's goalie in the first NHL shootout I'd ever seen then driving back to Knoxville thinking, "I'm going to be making this trip many times to experience nights like these". Years later, (after being a Nashville resident) feeling a building shake and jumping into the arms of my usher friend after Mike Fisher deposits a small black object of vulcanized rubber through a small piece of ice into surrounding twine .

Great to see some names I remember on this thread! Welcome back! Have some pie, it's over on the counter.

I'm here for the good and the bad, since 1998. Good far outweighs the bad, IMO. Only time I seriously considered dropping my tickets was the year we ended up drafting Seth Jones. That season was truncated due to lockout and miserable when we came back. But the next year was fun again.

You would f***ing think with a brother who he was a professional ultimate frisbee player, yes, there was a professional ultimate frisbee, league look up the Columbus Cranes, you would know that you toss a hat like a frisbee
The only throw I can pull off consistently is a hammer, and hats do not work well with those. My backhand is barely acceptable and my forehand is even worse.

And he still plays now and again for various club teams. And the league still exists; it's the Cranes that quickly vanished. :)

Kimmo Timonen was one hell of a hockey player. I think we forgot how good he was because of Josi and Weber. I'd argue he was just as good as Suter.
Yep. The one and only thing I like about Chicago is they traded for him and let him get a Cup

I remember watching a game shortly after Kimmo was called up and as he was skating backwards he caught an edge, fell down and the opponent scored. I was shaking my head thinking "why the hell did we call up this guy?" Luckily he proved my initial impression to be way off the mark.
