He had absurd puck luck last year and so I'm not sure how sustainable his numbers were but based on the eye test he was a pretty decent player.

Better than Poehling at least.

I guess we'll see what numbers are correct but $1.1M AAV makes a heck of a lot more sense. This is Pitlick's first full year in the league and he was waived half way through.

I like that he wanted to be in Mtl enough that he accepted to wait a few days for a trade to be made and not consider offers from other teams in the meantime.

I think it makes some sense as he had a good thing going here, but I'm sure he got offers from elsewhere as well. Much worse players got contracts.

Pitlick's signing means we have $1,248,334m in cap space.

Capfriendly.com has Slafkovsky on our roster though, and I expect him to be in Laval.

If we take Slafkovsky out of the equation that brings us to $2,198,334m. Still not enough to sign Dach, but we can give Montembeault a one year one-way $750k-$850k contract. They gave him his QO, so I expect they sign him.

Still need to trade a winger: one of Hoffman, Drouin, Armia or Anderson?

Would gladly trade any if not all of those, likely only Anderson has value though

They also are only showing 6 dman on the NHL roster and they will probably add Schueneman and his 750K to the cap.

I'd still expect something to get done with Dvorak and/or Anderson.

Hoffman is negative value, IMO. If we had cap space, I'd move him to Philly for JVR since they need space this year. But we don't until we know what's happening with Price.

Drouin, honestly best to keep him and hope he plays well enough to bring a 2nd at the deadline. It's a contract year for him and he should get a ton of icetime.

Byron may be moveable if we retain 50% Although we could also bury him for $1.125M in relief.

Plus I fully expect Price to not be ready to start the season.

Best news of the day. They evaluated Rem's value higher than Poehling's. I liked the prospect of what Poehling could have become. There is more certaincy in what Rem brings to the table.

And you have to give to receive and Poehling is a very nice sweetener.
