Reinbacher claims he was asked weird WW2 related question in one of the interviews

Yeah it is highly offensive.
Its like putting the guilt/blame on a innocent 18y kid in 2023 for what many many generations ago did in WW2.
He was not even born yet during the cold war.
... hell he wasn't even born on 911.
The good thing is, he also wasn't born when How You Remind Me hit the charts and was played non-stop everywhere during a few months.

I’ll presume whoever asked that is younger and just didn’t make the connection. Hopefully the young man didn’t get the connection either. It obviously wasn’t meant to be mean it just looks bad and again I just don’t know what they hope to gain from it. If anyone thinks hockey is at all comparable to shooting at other human beings they lack perspective. Sports management types can be pretty thoughtless.

help me understand why the minimum is not 6, please
I was thinking the exact same thing. 5 races of 5 (25 horses) then 1 more race with the 5 winners lol
6 races will allow you to determine the fastest, not the three fastest. Like what if all 3 fastest horses were in the same preliminary race and therefore 2nd and 3rd got eliminated before the final? Therefore another additional race is required.

I can't fathom how asking these questions would be helpful at all. Just makes the organization look like a joke when they leak.

Because in game 7, with your team down a goal, puck in the slot, you need to tell the other teams goalie the answer to these questions. His response will let you know if you get a goal or not.

“I sit down and say, ‘Nice to meet you.’ He’s a hockey legend and I’m trying to be respectful,” Dach said on the podcast. “He says, ‘I hear you smoke weed.’”

“I said, ‘No, I really don’t.'

"He says, 'OK,' and the questions go on.

"And then he says, 'So are you sure you don’t smoke any pot? I had a couple of teammates who said you smoke weed.'

"I said, 'No, I don’t really smoke any weed.'

"He said, 'Are you sure?'

"I said, 'Ya, I’m sure.'

“(Yzerman’s) like an intimidating guy. He’s very intense and he’s in your face and I’m sitting there and I’m starting to sweat," Dach said on the podcast. "I’m thinking I’m going to have to change my shirt after this for the next interview.”

Haha, I believe it has been said Yzerman was joking with this question.

or would it indicate honesty?

some situations you truly have no way of knowing how you'd actually react without being in them
Thats fair. I only say it because I'm indecisive myself, and that can be a trait that leads to a lot of second guessing, which isn't an attribute I would necessarily want in a hockey player.

Trevor Timmins is still in the league. Gaurantee it was him. That’s why people think it was the Habs because they associate these type of antics with the team because he was there for so long.

It’s an awkward attempt to make him uncomfortable, so they can see how he handles stress. The question doesn’t matter.

It is here that you realize many of these teams have some high priced help with regards to stats but they also have some people who's only life experience is the national hockey league. Little formal education and you would get some of the guys that think this is indicative of performance in a game 7, 5 years from now... Nonsense... HR is most certainly not in the room while the simpleton's ask these questions.

These things are so stupid and so unrelated to what goes into hockey that I really think teams ask them for pure entertainment.

"WOULD YOU ORDER THE CODE RED!?!"

Why's it have to be WW2?
that was my thought as well lmao.

But wouldn't he be indirectly responsible for killing his teammates if he doesn't blast the enemy boat?

Probably could have phrased a similar question in a better way to get the insight you are looking for. Tons of professional sports teams have invested in sports psychology. I honestly wonder what was the answer they were looking for. Did, they want someone who would stick with their teammates regardless, did they want someone who blindly follows orders, etc.
It's the NHL, coaches used to skate players for NOT staying out past curfew if the rest of the team was still out. Now those coaches are the old heads in teams front offices. I think the answer they're looking for is pretty easy haha
