Love the attitude Carlyle has brought to the team.

He is the anti Torts. Tortorella always yells and screams and most of the time you end up losing the team after a while because it's the same act and routine over and over again. I like that Carlyle takes a break from giving his team hell. He's definitely calmer this year

I can't remember where I read it but one of the assistants suggested to RC to calm it down a bit instead of yelling all the time as to not lose the room. RC was famous for his yelling antics out in Anaheim so I'm glad he has adapted himself as a coach with this young team.

Yea.. I remember an Uncle Randy quote very early in his time with the Leafs (checked Google but couldn't find it) where he talked about reflecting after he was let go from the Ducks.

He mentioned that although his system would remain pretty much the same, it was how he treated his players/reacting after wins and losses that would change because the modern day athlete is different from when he played the game.

So I'm not crazily making stuff up about RC in my head.

I just realized that Kovalchuk plays 25+ minutes a game! That's ridiculous for a forward. Next closest is the TB twins holding hands when they come on the ice (St. Louis and Stamkos with 21:57 and 21:56 respectively).

Was at the game last night sitting right behind Reimer for 2/3 of the game. He was very sharp and the only reason the team won. Gardiner and Franson looked a but sloppy IMO and Komarov definitely pisses a lot of people off. It was nice to chant "Reimer". Been a while since I've been to a game where you could actually chant the goalies name. Feels good man.

I've heard many times that during the Leafs 0-5 slump this season, RC and his coaches sat down and decided to ease up on the team - deciding that aggressive coaching isn't an appropriate method with such a young team. From then on, the team has been fantastic.

Well only one regular work shift from the next game. Let's go discuss Caps vs Leafs in the Pre-Game Talk.
