They showed one replay then wouldn’t repeat it. I saw it, not good. Manson hit him pretty hard from behind while the ref was skating backwards across the line. He fell hard and awkwardly. The angle shown didn’t help me figure out if he hit his head. He was laying on his side and not really moving at all, though it looked like he was talking to the trainer. They’ve updated and said it’s a major or serious back injury. That’s pretty strong wording and with never seeing him move it’s a little concerning. Thoughts and prayers, hope it’s something minor.

No intent from Manson, the ref was in a weird spot and surprised Manson though on the replay it looked like the ref was in his field of sight.

Yikes!

Speedy recovery I hope. A collision can sometimes be better when you dont know it's coming, but it can also be a lot worse. This is clearly worse, as his body contorted awkwardly on the way down.

Manson was not paying attention to his surroundings in the slightest.

Really unfortunate. You can tell Manson had no idea he was there(Clearly had his eyes on the puck down low) and when he does see him at the last second he puts his hands up like a normal reaction which basically results in a pretty nasty hit for Dunning.

I don’t see how you can criticize Manson. He’s skating right along the line staring into the corner where the play is. The ref is skating backwards in a bad spot right across the line in the opposite direction. You wish that Manson looked right, but he had no reason to. You wish the ref wasn’t skating along the blue line backwards. There’s no one to blame, it’s an accident.
