Redraft 2021

Between Hughes and Johnston. I think it will obviously be Hughes a year or two from now. Johnston is great but I don't see elite, top 25 player kind of talent.

Hughes and Johnston are the clear top two for me as well. After that it gets messy. You have Power and Edvinsson who are both huge defensemen, and we know how much NHL GM's love those guys. You also have a group of very similarly productive forwards in Guenther, Knies, Eklund, McTavish, and Johnson.

Realistically, IMO Knies goes a lot higher in a redraft than most people would think. He's a 6-3 refrigerator with great hands around the net. GM's covet that type of player.

Knies is out playing both Marner and Matthews so far in the playoffs.

His production doesn't even show on the scoresheet, he's fantastic defensively,
and, he is top 10 net front presence in the NHL.

The amount of screen goals that come from Knies infront of the net is definitely more than anyone from this draft.

After his break out year, there isn't any power forward in the draft that compares to Knies. You can't name 5 players in the draft that are better current NHL players as of now.

If I was a Stanley Cup contender, there are only 3 players I would take ahead of Knies:
Wyatt, Hughes, and maybe Edvinsson.

He was one of the best players in the 2 series against the Stanley Cup Champs, Florida Panthers

I take him #4 in a redraft.

Yeah he's a beast. He may not pile up as many points as some of the other top forwards from 2021, but he's such a unicorn that I think his all around impact could make up for it.

I dont watch a lot of games from around the league but I would gladly draft Knies in the #10 spot over Boucher. It could be Sens worst draft pick ever

If you ever wondered why the Wild can't win a playoff round, it might have something to do with drafting a goalie and two middling dmen before Knies, who was heading to Minnesota.
