The Detroit Red Wings have struggled recently and are now sniffing the bottom of the standings again. While the Red Wings look further away from a playoff contender than we originally thought, its now time to discuss the trade deadline and what the Wings should do.

One thing is for sure, Ben Chiarot is not doing any favors for Moritz Seider. Seider has put himself in a better position and rack up more points, and some of the credit needs to go to Seider’s new defensive pair partner: Jake Walman.

While Andrew Copp comes away from the game against the Jets with two assists, it’s worth mentioning he still found himself at the bottom of the Red Wings' list of xGF% and has done so dating back to December 1st as well.

The Detroit Red Wings are dealing with Bo Horvat trade rumors and Dylan Larkin contract negotiations. In the meantime, Andrew Copp and the team played a great game against a not so great opponent, the San Jose Sharks. We’ll discuss it all with you!

Andrew Copp just played one of his best games as a Detroit Red Wing and we think we have some insight into how and why. Copp netted the game winner in OT vs the Sharks, so hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.

The Red Wings are also in the middle of the hottest trade rumors to hit the market in the NHL this season. While the Vancouver Canucks are turning into the embarrassment of the league, they are very transparent with what they want to do in their next steps. Bo Horvat is one of those next steps and while they’d like to keep him, shipping him out seems like the best option.

While Bo Horvat is at the top of everyone’s mind, a related story, because it deals with another pending UFA in the NHL, Dylan Larkin is discussing with Steve YZerman his own extension. The Red WIngs and Larkin look to have agreed on 8 years, but have yet to agree on the AAV/salary.

The Detroit Red Wings called up Jakub Vrana after losing Lucas Raymond to injury and looking to display his talents before the trade deadline. The Red Wings also have juicy trade rumors to think about when it comes to Tyler Bertuzzi.

The Detroit Red Wings are in the playoff hunt just a few weeks before the trade deadline. Playing in one of their most meaningful games over the last five seasons the Detorit Red Wings beat the Washington Capitals 3-1.

The star of the road trip was clearly Dylan Larkin, who was one of the 3 stars of the week in the NHL. In the Capitals game, Larkin got a 5-minute major and game misconduct, but the Red Wings prevailed thanks to Pius Suter and his scrappy, skilled play.

The Red Wings also put Jakub Vrana in the lineup. Vrana would end up as one of the more efficient forwards on the ice, helping force the play on the forecheck, resulting in some great scoring chances and Pius Suter’s second goal.

The Detroit Red Wings sign and extended Dylan Larkin with an 8-year deal worth $69 Million and an AAV of $8.75 Million per season. The Detroit Red Wings also traded Filip Hronek for a 1st round pick in 2023 and a 2nd round pick in 2023.

All of this happened on the heels of the Red Wings losing three straight in the middle of their playoff race and have looked pretty bad in the process. After Steve Yzerman’s proclamation to Elliott Freidman that they would not sell? It has, and with Hronek gone, are there more trades to come? Could there be additions to the current roster?

Tyler Bertuzzi is still trending on Twitter, but could other names like Oskar Sundqvist bring back a huge return? Or are we a few upgrades away from stealing the final wild card spot?

The Red Wings also lost a tough one to the Tampa Bay Lightning, 3-0. They clearly dominated and needed some more finish, but would Sergei Fedorov have been able to score against Vasilevskiy that night? Who knows?

The Red Wings did make an excellent move for their future on Tuesday, announcing the signing of Jake Walman. Jake Walman signed a 3-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings, with an AAV of $3.4 Million. This is an incredible steal for the Wings and Steve Yzerman.

The Detroit Red Wings lost the draft lottery and are left with the 9th overall pick in the 2023 draft. The Red Wings did benefit from the Florida Panther’s recent success, so their 2nd first round pick (received from the Vancouver Canucks and originally the New York Islanders’ pick) is now the 17th pick.

So with those picks now known for sure, we continue to profile the NHL Draft’s top prospects after reviewing Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov, Smith, Moore, and Perrault in past episodes. Today, we profile Dalibor Dvorsky and David Reinbacher.

The 2023 NHL Offseason is officially underway after the Golden Knights beat the Florida Panthers to win the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals! The Detroit Red Wings now have their eyes on the 2023 NHL Draft and Free Agency, so we’ll keep profiling some prospects and look at some trade proposals to move up in the draft as well.

Moving up could mean Matvei Michkov, but we’ll take a look at Michkov and more in the ELite Prospects Draft Guide including their individual skill sets and rankings from some more fun attributes.

The Ottawa Senators have an owner, so it might be time for the WIngs and Sens to execute their big Debrincat trade. With Elliot Friedman declaring the Red Wings the frontrunner for Alex Debrincat, Frank Seravalli doubled down and announced Steve Yzerman will be more aggressive this offseason.

The Grand Rapids Griffins have a new coach in Dan Watson who led the way for the Toledo Walleye in their playoff run.
