Proposal: Red Wings Rangers

Kasper is just not a guy the Rangers should be targeting. He wouldn't help much of anything with a league trending away from cardboard type forwards again, especially in the big East.

Imagine just having seen Sam Bennett win Conn Smythe, and the performance that got him there, and claiming the league is moving away from "Cardboard" players like Marco Kasper. :help:

Nothing about the Summer of 2024 has anything to do with an asset like K'andre Miller on the market now. Trouba was and is old + used. My main point is that Detroit doesn't need another tall/mobile LHD because they have invested time and money into Simon Edvinsson. He's a better/younger version of K'andre that can use his size because he's not a headcase. Why would they even be looking for another LHD to take that pathway in the D-core away from Simon? Thoughever, Detroit is stuck in a perpetual loop of trying to breakthrough in the East. Limbo state, something the Rangers have managed to figure out this decade.
Not sure what that word salad means, but thanks anyway.

Kasper is going to be a hell of a player but it's just not what Chris Drury is looking for here in a potential trade package involving K.Miller. Red Wings and Rangers don't make good partners right now. The rumor of Drury using KAM as a means to move down in a deemed weaker draft hold merit. That's the type of value surrounding K'andre this summer.
Is anyone in this thread thinking about where these players would be playing in OP's proposal?

Kasper 3C between Berard-Perreault?
K.Miller -Seider? Over Edvinsson on LD?

Teams like NSH/SJS are interested in K'andre, not DET, because he can immediately thrust into a natural LHD slot for them without it seeming weird.
LOCK THE THREAD

Edvinsson/Seider was a Top pairing in the league for the short time it lasted. The problem was the other 35 minutes neither was on the ice.

Detroit's better off having 40-45 minutes of play with one on the ice than 23-25 minutes with them together.

Detroit absolutely does need a LH big D. Didn’t know you could only have one of those I guess it was really dumb of Tampa to have Hedman and McD when they were winning cups. Makes 0

People are so f***ing dramatic. Kasper for Miller isn't an unbelievable proposal, people need to calm down and stop acting like someone offered John Scott for McDavid. Red Wings have been out of the playoffs for almost a decade. Maybe you guys need a change.

Trading our 20 year old 2C of the future is definitely a good start, eh?

Never said that but stop insulting OP. The trade isn't that far off.

If only it were just Detroit fans laughing this up.

Hate to tell you this but the trade is far off. It's a decent bit more value than the compensation it would cost to offer sheet Miller without NYR matching.

You're the one conflating a 31 year old Trouba set to hit UFA status trade with a 25 yr old RFA asset being moved in an actual Hockey trade. I get it, Wing homer.

Marco Kasper is not Sam Bennett bud
And Samuel Bennett is not "cardboard"
nothing about Kasper's style of play indicates he will come close to what Sam Bennett can provide on a shift-to-shift basis. Just stop bro.

You clearly haven’t watched Kasper play. Not saying he is a 1 to 1 comparison with Bennett but he has a lot of the same elements. I actually think he will be better offensively than Bennett with maybe a few less massive hits but he is still gonna be a very physical strong pain in the ass player to play against for a damn long time

Marco Kasper is not Sam Bennett. Marco Kasper is much closer to Sam Bennett style than he is "Cardboard".

You could've just said you don't know f*** all about the player rather than said ignorant shit. :thumbu:

Yes the rebuilding team needs a change from the 20 year old they just drafted.
