Lol I cant even imagine thinking about talking about the goaltending when this team has this finishing ability right now?

Seriously?!
Our entire effort was poor. We went through the motions tonight and put too many lazy shots on net and didn't really make Ned work for his shutout. It's a well deserved result.

But make no mistake, that was a poor game from Raanta. Didn't impact the result tonight, but after this one I don't want to see him in a must win playoff game.

unpopular opinion, but i don't care if we see that same ~30% effort for the remaining regular season games.

rest up, stay healthy, do enough not to get rusty. absolute worst case we're 3rd in the metro and get the pens or rags. i'm comfortable with those match-ups. if they can't turn it up in the playoffs to the level needed, they were never going to do anything anyway.

Also, the sputtering PP doesn't help on Corsi Canes nights.

Through 75 games, they're 19-16-5 when they don't score on the PP and 29-3-3 when they do.

It's time for Brind'Amour to scramble the units. It's just not working right now. Give everyone a different look and come back to the standard personnel if that doesn't spark it.
Its time for Svech-Aho-Turbo to come back

Which... if Necas was worth a shit this year is probably what we'd still be doing, but its real hard to ice a 2nd line of Jarvis-Tro-Necas and expect anything to get done.

Our ideal lineup is

SAT
Jarvis-Tro-Necas
Nino-Jordo-Fast
Martinook-KK-Domi

but the fact that both Necas and Tro are invisible right now kind of makes that impossible

Regular Season Under Brind'Amour

PPG(s) - 98-24-9
No PPG - 70-61-19

Post Season Under Brind'Amour

PPG(s) - 9-5
No PPG(s) - 8-12

I'll get around to comparing this to other teams across the league at a later time. In isolation, this pattern is terrifying.

Good observation.

Challenge right now is that there is no break and with travel, limited practice time to tweak things.

Unfortunately, there is no - alpha scorer(s) on the team that can bring you through slumps and Aho-Tro have been dog shit lately.

So based on last year and this year, Detroit is our new Tampa from several years ago. Doesn’t matter how either team is playing, the odds are good we’ll have a shit game and lose. Or maybe steal one on occasion.

Tro has been absolutely invisible since.... The new year? Given his pending UFA, we should be glad to let him walk at this point. He's a wasted body at 2C with his play of late.
Any chance he's a play off kinda guy? If so, then there would be a point in keeping him, but of course the cap situation is something to consider too.

Apparently, going back to last year, the Canes are 1-13 when on ESPN+

Also, according to last night's broadcast, Bucchigross was the play-by-play for the 6-0 loss to Columbus, the 4-0 loss to Washington and last night's game. So he might be responsible.

Are you saying we should fight him in the back of a Bojangles parking lot?
