I get a sneaky feeling that everybody’s hearing the, “Yzerman is up to something”, chatter thinking it’s Bert, and it’s really Zadina.

I have absolutely no evidence to back that up…

With that asking price for Larkin why wouldn't Colorado target a player like Miller instead?

I look at these and think it's a lot of overpayment, but then I see what teams are slinging around for decent, but not great, pickups. If Chiarot is getting firsts plus prospects Leddy might get a low first/high second. It seems to be a seller's market this year.

For what it's worth I think Vrana is the surprise trade. He's signed for two more years and has scored a lot of goals since leaving the Caps. The Wings did well without him to start the season. I could see the Wings trading him with 50% retention for a nice return.

For a signed Vrana (or Bertuzzi) with 50% retention I would be expecting a return value similar to Hagel plus a bit extra.

Tampa acquiring Hagel onto their already stacked roster means every other team with a legit shot at the cup is going to have to pay up to compete.

I think the issue with Vrana is he’s barely played here. Hasn’t had enough time to show he’s more than what he got to display in Washington.

I am a neutral fan I am just curious about how Larkin is viewed and am woefully ignorant about the value of different players.

He's a horse.
I think of him like Kesler back in the day.
Not as brilliant on faceoffs. Incredible Speed still. Plays through people on the forecheck. Heavy stick seems to cause turnovers and win board battles.
He's been a legit 1C.
But he'd be brilliant depth on a team with Mackinnon on L1. Like Kesler behind the Sedins.

source? I don't think this is true, why do you "believe Zadina has been traded."
Friend of a friend kinda deal who supposedly knows blashill just told Zadina. We’ll see I could very well be wrong here that’s why I didn’t post a thread.

As much as I want to mock this, I remember all the “Lol, this f***ing idiot thinks we’re picking Seider”, a month before the draft… So I’m just gonna shut up and maybe laugh at you later.

Whats the low down on Stetcher?

I liked him in Vancouver and thought he was pretty steady.

Leddy can still play 22 minutes a night and if he's paired with a good defensive or 2-way RD I would expect his metrics to improve. Trading him with 50% retention might get a 1st. Without retention I would think a 2nd and a 3rd.

Namestnikov and Jarnkrok are similar utility players. Both are pending UFAs and similar in age and career stats. He would be a solid depth add for a team out west that might run into the buzzsaw that Calgary has become. I don't think it's a crazy ask for a similar trade.

Stecher is likely gone for a 4th or 5th. I'd even take it if the pick were next year.

Bertuzzi would take a haul at least similar to the Hagel trade. And even then I still don't love that move. I would want an A level prospect, a 1st and a 2nd for Bertuzzi.

I don't think Detroit entertains trading Vrana unless it blows them away. He's cost controlled, just coming back from injury and will be able to have a role in Detroit. Same as Bertuzzi, but maybe no 2nd.

No mention of Staal? He looked... not... terrible against EDM the other night. Can see Holland going back to the well and ponying up a late pick for him if he would accept a move here.
