Looking forward to seeing Kempe!

Now I'm reading that Setoguchi might not report to Ontario.

Habs hire Julien.

And you thought bye week would be boring.

Keith Sweat...haven't heard that name in a while..

This is pretty unusual by Kings standards. Recalling a guy like Kempe who hasn't found his game in the AHL yet is sorta surprising. Maybe he just needs a kick in the ***?

It's unusual during the "golden era" of the Kings, but Lombardi is not completely adverse to doing so previously.

This team is nowhere near 2012-14 at the moment so why not give him a shot?

That's how I see it as well. It's not like their current options are any better. This season they only have one winger who is offensively competent. Worth a shot to see what Kempe could do at this level.

I don't blame Seto, not because he was wrongly sent down or anything but he really has very little reason to report.

His future is in Europe.

I think it is a bad idea to not report.
Kings could still call him up for the playoffs.
Or decide that Kempe isn't mature enough.
Several good reasons to report. No good reasons not to report

Kempe's problem is he takes shifts off, that won't fly with Sutter.

So Hope Kempe (brings it).

The real strength of having Ontario be so close, unlike Manchester, is that the team can do these roster mix-ups without serious planning. If Kempe doesn't work out, it's just a drive away to trading him out with someone else.

Wondering if Kempe is being brought up to show him how NHLers don't take a shift or two off. Also, could DL be showcasing Kempe? (I know, not DL's MO, but you never know).
Whatever the reason, hope he gets some meaningful playing time and he continues to grow as a player.

This very well could be the reason he'd suddenly bring him up over Brodz, if he has a trade brewing and that GM wants to see Kempe in a few NHL games, why not?
Curious to see who has extra scouts (or a GM ) at the next few Kings games.
Could be why DL was at the Isles -Leafs game last night, along with 2 Kings scouts.

Lombardi was at the Leafs game yesterday (or the day before). Kings are interested in JVR... Also, Nylander was a linemate of Kempe at the WJC.

Hmmmm...

Wasn't Kempe having a down year in the AHL? Has he turned it around?

No. Still super inconsistent. Same issue as with LaDue. Some nights they're world beaters and noticeably the best players on the ice, some nights invisible. Kempe has the higher peaks and valleys though.

You probably haven't heard Brian McKnight or Guy in a while either but they'll be there haha.

Kempe over Brodzinski? Hmmmm...

I have seen very little of Brodzinski this year, but I've always thought he only had an NHL level shot and not much more.

Maybe he's improved this season; I defer to regulate, damacles, et al, but I'm not surprised.

But like Futa has said before, Kempe's game might translate to the tighter structure of NHL play versus AHL, excited to see him play tomorrow though, especially if he does get in on LW with Kopitar.

Or, it could be the other way around. The team is probably expected to be flat, bringing up a kid with something to prove might help the team get going.

This is feeling like an Anshakov/Grebeshkov/Weal maneuver..... bring him up, showcase him, trade him..... oh well...
