The price for Mintyukov is (or should be) unreasonably high, especially compared to Zellweger. Toronto doesn't have the right assets, any trade piece the value is either too high or too low for Mintyukov. He's probably going to be our 2nd or 3rd best D next season. Zellweger is probably going to be had cheaper than what he's worth.

Ducks will:
Re-sign Carlsson, Gauthier, Mintyukov, Moore, Hinds
Probably re-sign Trouba and Viel
Trade Zellweger, maybe McTavish amd Helleson

New additions:
Sign/trade for vet RD (Kesselring, Murphy)
Top 6 forward or higher end RD if McTavish is moved
Maybe a 4th line forward that can hit and PK

This is just guys that were on the Ducks at the end of the season.

Wishful thinking: any move that gets Kreider off the Carlsson line.

Likely opening night roster:
Kreider Carlsson Gauthier
Granlund McTavish Sennecke
Killorn Poehling Vatrano
Viel Washe Moore/4th line addition

LaCombe Trouba
Mintyukov vet RD/Moore
Hinds Luneau/Moore

Could also see Zellweger with Hinds or Moore since both Hinds and Zellweger can play RD.

I'd personally like to see a top line of Sennecke-Carlsson-Gauthier.

Kreider, Helleson, and Vatrano need to be off this team.

Don't doubt your chances...Seems like Tuch is chasing the almighty dollar...I'd say you guys got a good shot at him.

Sounds weird, but he might actually be a great player for a bad team. I’ve often found his game a bit limited for his rep, and it showed in playoffs- I’m not gonna say he could never improve there, but he doesn’t think or move his hands at that elite level. But he’s a big dude who skates fast, can shoot, pk, defend, and he seems to just put his head down and play his game. Takes his lumps when the team sucks, but has the individual talent to still score 60ish points. Not a Louis Eriksson, in short. I don’t blame players for chasing the money, and maybe he’s cool with avoiding the grind/emotional mindf*** that is chasing a cup. Just hang with fam in Van, play hard, and you’re likely only playin 84 for awhile.

MN is rumored to be interest in McCarron, which scares me. The guy has never made a money and is 31 yo, so you know that he won't take a hometown discount. Guerin loves to overpay big 4th liners.

Flames don't need to do anything in free agency. They have a lot of forwards, a lot of youth. Going to stick to being a bottom 5 team, possibly bottom 3 for this year. I'd assume we're trading Coleman and listening to offers on Sharangovich, Frost, Whitecloud, Hanley, Pachal. Ice a lot of youth, and prepare for the future.

I like your thinking.

How good is Frost, with regards to Montreal needing a 2C?

So many reviews. Points yes, a lot. But I’ve read he’s an elite skater. For his size (5’11) , he needs to be.

Get a chuckle from the French play by play guy on the linked video 😂

His edge work is good, he walks the line as well as anybody but his straight line speed is brutal. It makes him very 'exciting' defensively
It's a thrill a minute
