  • Congrats to our latest Sportsbook winners - GOLD MEDAL kihei, SILVER MEDAL fish7 and BRONZE MEDAL Sammy Kat - new tournament begins today 6/15
March 23, 1999 (Trade Deadline):
  • Acquired Chris Chelios from the Chicago Blackhawks for Anders Eriksson and first-round picks (1999 & 2001).
  • Acquired Ulf Samuelsson from the New York Rangers for a 1999 second-round pick and a 2000 third-round pick.
  • Acquired Wendel Clark from the Tampa Bay Lightning for Kevin Hodson and a 1999 second-round pick.
They also brought in over the hill, bill renford for a pick or 2. And I loved getting Chelios, even at that price. I truly thought ulf was an over payment at the time, especially if you were gettng Chelios!!@
Wendel was a power play luxury at that time and at his age. Maybe a fair price and he did produce in that role, but scotty bowman was our coach and he, rarely played him there after a few games. Afterwards, he was condemned to the 3 or 4tb line, where he was useless. I feel scotty actually played him too much to close the season and tanked our playoffs. (Shit, scotty, if you didn't like the trade, just bench him. He certainly wasn't helping the 4th line.)

The only guy I've seen play is Valentini and I quite like him. I find it hard to believe he'll be around in the 5th round.

Wendel Clark, sorry for off topic but I looked back and I was surprised to see Clark was 33 when he played here. He looked like he was 43 :DD

Are those players big two-way players with low upside? If so then you've done very well ;)

Wow!!!! I definitely would have bet dollars to doughnuts that he was older than that. But again, he was worth his trade price on the power play. As I recall, he didn't cost too much, a la Larry Murphy cash dump from Toronto, but then Bowman stopped using him. So why bring him in? An overaged powerplay specialist, to not play on the powerplay?? (Which was already one of the best in the league.) Obviously scotty didn't stamp that trade!! But still why? He was briefly effective in that role.

I know, I mean in @Realgud 's simulator they have 2 and 8.
Didnt update it since the end of the season, I usually wait until the end of the playoffs for a last update on the pick order, unless the lottery affects the wings directly

Yeah, I'd like to but it was easier with McKenzie's rankings, now I'm not too sure what to use. Feel free to move guys around and you can even PM me a list if you think you have a better idea of an up-to-date consensus list and I'll gladly update the default one.

I’ve gone from Gustafsson to Hakkinsson to Shcherbakov to Somolovski. I don’t think any will be there for us. The hell with it I’m taking Karmanov now at 47
