Canucks swedish scouts are insane, Seriously they need to draft 80% Swedes every year

Are they though?

Pettersson was obviously a great pick, but the rest of their track record since the lockout is pretty mixed:

Persson, Hoglander, Costmar, K.Gunnarsson, Forsling, Cederholm, Blomstrand, Westerholm, Tommernes, Rodin, Andersson, Rahimi

Too early to tell for the first 3 guys but the rests are busts, with the possible exception of Forsling who is a 6/7 D at best.

I like how you just breezed right through the Pettersson pick like no big deal you picked a franchise player but WHO ELSE!

Picking a franchise player outside the top 3 should give the Canuck Euro Scout all the clout they need.

Franchise wise theyve drafted some studs

Henrik Sedin
Daniel Sedin
Alex Edler
Mattias Ohlund

Vancouver defintiely seems like a the go to place for Swedes. I always think when a Sweede hit UFA the Canucks will have an advantage.

OEL putting Van as 1 of 2 teams he would waive for
Mats Sundin only wanting to go to Van

Something about Vancouver that makes Sweedes feel like they are at home.

Yeah. Their Swedish drafting has been amazing. EP, Hoglander and possibly Persson if he develops is a pretty amazing haul in the last three years. And that’s without a first or second round pick this last year.

Agreed. I hope the Swedish scouts turn out good, but at this point we are waiting. The Swedish prospects are progressing well but is no guarantee, we should wait before saying the Canucks Swedish scoutsa are doing such a great job

Im more a fan of our PROOVEN American scouts (Hughes, Demko, Gaudette) with a good progressing prospect that we should WAIT on before judging like Rathbone

Crazy that Costmar was the third to last pick in the 2019 draft and is now in the SHL as a 19YO and potentially on Swedens WJC squad. Getting two 7th rounders into the WJC would be a pretty big win for our scouts.
Costmar is on the team if healthy. Don't expect or set an expectation on Persson to make the team though.
