Per a bunch of rangers fans he was looking like a potential top 4 guy one day. Could be a good one.

He made the team out of his first training camp and deserved to. First couple weeks he was really good but then the struggles came and he went down. A brief recall later as an injury call up.

Played 3 years at Nebraska-Omaha as pretty much a stay at home D. He was very good at it. He's a big guy who skates really well. His dad is a very well known and respected coach in USA hockey circles so he was like born to be a hockey player. I was surprised at training camp seeing him attacking as much as he did. I think that's kind of new for him and part of his problem comes down to picking the right spots to do that. He can get back fast but chasing plays too much will eventually bite you. All that said this is really his first year pro. You really almost have to expect a player in his first year to have issues to iron out.

You can't teach size and the guy moves well. If he cuts down the risky shit he's a very good defender and all the above is the foundation necessary to be an NHL defenseman. Some decent coaching and I can't see what else would stand in the way of that happening.
