RD Sam Rinzel (2022, 25th, CHI)

Very interesting toolbox. Is he going to be a PP1 guy in the future? If not, what kind of role is he expected to play on a mature team?

Everyone thought that ducks were a lock to take Buium. Their sennecke was out of left field. Who knows.
I don't remember there being a consensus for the Ducks at all pre-draft and remember some chatter around Sennecke a few days before, but Verbeek when asked also said RD was the biggest weakness in their organization. He was pretty clearly their guy if given the chance the reason why it was so unpredictable was due to the uncertainty around Chicago going Levshunov or Demidov

I was looking at betting odds throughout the day. That morning there was a huge drop on Buium who went down to -500 to get picked 3rd to Anaheim. Levshunov was something like -300 go go 2nd and Lindstrom -220 to go 4th.

I think there was some false leaking/misdirection or maybe they changed their mind last second.

So out of his total of 9 NHL games this season, he didn't put up any points in the first 3 games, had 5pts in his last 6. Really solid finish to the year.

But not great. All three of Faber/Lacombe/Johnson were great, plus they had freshman Chesley that was solid and not all that different than junior Chesley.
Gophers should have won the year they had that line with Knies-Cooley-Snuggerud along with the stacked defense... but best of 1, anything can happen
