He was shockingly bad at the World Juniors.

All these Minnesota fans told us how well he was playing this season, but he didn't look like he belonged.

We were told by them how bad Chesley was playing this season (along with Snuggerud and Moore supposedly), but he looked very good, was the top defensive player player on the Gold Medal winners, and the +/- in Gopher games didn't seem to match that view either.

Not accusing Gopher fans of not saying what they see, but I don't believe all the helium for Rinzel after the awful Juniors he had.
He wasn’t bad.

I personally thought Rinzel was playing better than Chesley at Minnesota the last month before the WJC as well.

For the record I thought Rinzel was "fine" at the WJC.. had an awful SF and a decent final, but based on what I had seen at Minnesota for the last month I thought he might have a coming out party. He didn't but that doesn't mean he wasn't playing well at Minnesota beforehand.

This guy is having a pretty good year so far just by stats watching. Can anyone comment on his game who have seen him?

It's got to be pretty exciting for CBH fans. Still can improve defensively, strength wise, and just all round in processing the game, but the improvements have been obvious. I think it would be wise for him to spend another year in college, and hit the ground running in the NHL like Faber, but I doubt that he, his agent, and the CBH will be that patient.

His length, and skating, are big strong points, but i think he can be a really good all round Dman if they don't rush him. Korchinski would be a cautionary tale for them.

Hate to say it but this guy is a stud. I’ve watched quite a bit of Gopher hockey this season and he is always impressive. A guy with that size, skating, and offensive ability has huge NHL potential.
With him and Levshunov manning the right side, Hawks are looking good.

How’s his physicality?

Vlasic - Levshunov
Korchinski - Rinzel

Knight

This has the makings of a very solid backbone, unfortunately.

Could potentially be even better

Schaefer Levshunov
Vlasic Rinzel
(I think Korchinski gets traded if they take Schaefer)

I’d buy stock in both Chicago and Minnesota having great D cores for a long time. (Edge to Minnesota currently)
