Seems like Michigan it will be. I really thought he'd go to Denver but Denver doesn't float the big checks like Michigan....in fact for the 26-27 season, no one comes close to the money Michigan is giving out in their quest to mimic the 25-26 basketball program.

Still, Dupont was (is) a huge Denver fan (Carle) and I thought that would come before a 125k pay out.
Dupont is getting way more than 125K

The stories that Dupont is wanting to go near his girlfriend, if true, are troubling. Any plan that includes chasing a girl at 17 are doomed to be a bad choice.
Huh? I bet she's a Swedish Minnesotan blonde bombshell. He will hold on to her for a while. lol. But yes troublings a great word but come it's Minnesota and not Minnesota State. lol.

I would assume that DuPont will be the highest paid NIL hockey athlete, surpassing McKenna's previous record, whatever it was. While the 700K figure has been disputed, most believe it was a minimum of 300K, potentially upwards of 400K with bonuses. I think it's reasonable to expect that DuPont will be getting many offers in the 300K range. He's going to be making really good money.

Penn State's a good academic school just not a hockey school yet.
Breaking news: mckenna didn’t go to school to become a lawyer. He went to Penn for the money and facilities.

Everyone knew he was only going for the 1 year anyways. Could take any course doesn’t matter he won’t be graduating he’s going to be in the NHL next year

100%

He took a fly fishing "class" as one of his electives. Tells you he didnt go there for the education.

Michigans NIL will skyrocket once OpenAI's IPO happens
apparently the mandate is for a large portion to be liquidated

Their $20 million investment in OpenAI was before microsoft. Which values said investment at $2.4 Billion

The funds were $15 or 16 Million from the endowment with a emphasis that a large chunk of returns go back into athletics

95% will go to football as thats where the finds came from essentially
but hockey will get some nice play

I wish I was chasing tail with Paul Martin as my coach as a 17 year old. I get your point....yes...but those words have never come out of his mouth in public. Pure speculation.

You know what he's going to find by attending one year of Penn State? He will be in their alumni network with many business contacts to make money. Smart move by attending college for one year.

I am sure he is going to struggle to make money being the number one overall pick likely in Toronto. Totally wouldn't have gotten any of it without those alumni connects at Penn State lol

Of course he was going to make NHL money but the one year of school learning how to network with everyone at a Big Ten school can't be thrown under the bus. It's the best student athlete conference in the world with high buck doners who recently gave him 250 to 750k of NIL money. It's not jus McKenna but everyone in North America who has the ability to play college hockey has the same opportunities.

Girlfriends end more careers than injuries

I don't know the exact amount McKenna received but I do know it was no where near 700k.....
It was $700k if he hit all the incentives, which he didn’t do. It ended up being around 500
