Jordan Subban is only 17, he won't stop growing. He'll probably get around his brothers height. Don't think it'll be a problem.

There's no proof of this. PK was never that short, and Jordan Subban was 5'9 when he was drafted at age 15. He could grow again, but don't count on it. There's as many people who stop growing at 15 as there are people who stop growing at 20. Seth Jones was 6'4 at 14, he's 6'4, maybe a little bigger at 18.

Not when he was in the OHL. He may have been drafted at that height but he was taller than PK was after that. Jordan has just not grown at all.

That's true of any player that ever makes the NHL? Why is it so much more of an issue for small guys than it is for other players?

The NHL is hard to make. 6 foot 3 guys fail just as much as 5 foot 9 guys do...

Anyone who suggests that size isnt a huge issue & to illustrate their point gives a bunch of smaller guys as examples is clueless.

Montreal's later second rounder is right around where almost everyone has Subban ranked, so it's possible. Depending on who's still on the board, I wouldn't be against it.

I don't think he goes 2nd round unless someone reaches because of his name. I've got him pegged as a guy who could go anywhere between the 3rd-5th rounds. He plays a similar style to PK offensively, but lacks the athleticism and size of his older brother, which will make it tough for him to defend at the next level.

Agreed. Some people were saying 1-2 years ago that Jordan might end up being better than PK, I never understood how people could say that. PK was a steal in the second round. PK can be a viscious hitter, somethine Jordan will never have.

I don't think some people realize how elite PK's footwork is. Athleticism, strength and footwork will always be the biggest difference between these two d-men.

I notice as well that when u pressure him hard in his own end, he stops skating. I see this in minor midget as well. A guy who shows he has elite skating ability, but when pressure comes he stops skating to avoid the big hit that could happen and dishes the puck off early. Time and time again u see this type of thing. Elite skaters who lack some size, seem to do this most often. Its a mental thing because usually these guys have the ability to avoid the pressure and get away but it seems that they get intimidated at times and stop skating. U even see it all the way up at the NHL level, John Michael Liles of the Maple leafs does this constantly. Good skater who literally stops moving his feet when pressure him in the neutral zone or in his own end.

Honestly, watching this year NHL playoffs and seeing someone like Torey Krug having an effect can be a real eye opener when assessing players based on how tall or short they are.

I've seen 2 years of Jordan playing in the OHL. I think he'll be scooped up by a team late in the 3rd or early 4th. Give him a couple more years in junior to develop and maybe grow a little and he should be at the very least an effective offensive/powerplay dman in the NHL.

Nobody should have been surprised when he turned out the way he did but anyone who remembers P.K back then, they wouldn't have been surprised if he never translated to a quality NHLer.

Likely bias. I lived in Belleville for P.K's junior years and always loved him as a player and thought he was underrated his draft year.

Jared Staal went 49th overall.. If you think Jordan Subban will last until the 3rd you're out of your mind.

I would draft this kid with Edmonton's 37th in a hearbeat. These Subban kids have talent, character and work ethic through the roof. With 17 year old kids it's hard to tell how truly driven they are and if their confidence is artificial from always being one of the best players on their team or if they truly believe in themselves to their core. No guessing with this kid, you know he's going to exhaust every possible drop of his potential. You have to have the requisite talent first of all, that's there, and then your will and heart takes over to fight through adversity and organizational depth charts, that's there too. Of course there's a luck and organizational fit component. But of what this kid can control I think it's all there. Just my opinion.
