Watch pretty much any of his games. His U18s are probably most easily accessible. You’ll see what I mean. Turnovers, bad shot selections, bad reads in his end, over-committals on odd man rushes, etc. It’s not like it’s every shift, but it seems like he he’s a sure bet to make at least one incredibly poor play a game.
Yikes! Thank you for the info. Again, it's too bad.

I think gamble is just a saying as everybody past the 4th round is a gamble.

He just had brutal draft season
But he was OHL rookie of the year last year
Finished top 10 in combine testing
It just seems like an enormous drop. If they can teach everything but how to put the puck in the back of the net, hopefully they can teach this kid to think on his feet or just keep things simple.

Thanks!

He missed 4 months because of a shoulder injury. But his stat line certainly doesn't bode well for his future as an NHL prospect.

I know it’d be easy to count him out, but he just returned from shoulder surgery. He missed a lot of time. Give him some time to gain back some confidence and earn his role within the lineup.

What happened is probably a combination of he lost his confidence, the team he played for last season struggled, and he had some flaws that are now in bigger focus (not that big, decision making hasn’t improved since he was a U17, and he’s probably not a high-end offensive defender either).

Let’s see how he’s doing at this time a year from now before we count him out.

Invited to WJC camp, 22 points in 24 games. Weird last two year but could be a great story. He was seens like a top 5 pick in the 2022 draft at some points.
