RD Artyom Levshunov (2024, 2nd, CHI)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

More than the points, the thing that really sticks out about him so far is his transition game. Whether he carries it in himself or quickly moves it up to a forward (on their tape I might add), he's been very efficient moving the puck up ice.

He also played a whopping 24 minutes tonight. Not bad for a defenseman in his D+1 season.

He’s the first D since we had prime Keith or Seabrook where you watch him go back and assume it’s gonna be an easy breakout

He’s really looks the part of the future number one D he was drafted as

To me the biggest surprise/area of growth I've seen from him is his ability to carry the puck up the ice. Didn't see it much in college at all but man he accelerates so well for a guy his size and has more than enough skill to be able to beat the first forward and get his team moving in the right direction

As a Hawks fan I still probably take Demidov at this point. But at least I feel a lot better after watching his first stint in the NHL.
High-end RHD are almost impossible to find unless you draft and develop them. A rebuilding NEED at least one and the fact that Chicago took their early in their rebuild will be a blessing when you look back at 5 years from now

Add Rinzel, who should get a a few games this year after the college season ends. Hawks looking good at RD.

You do no think a #7 pick (KK), #13 pick (Nazar) and Leafs 1st would not be enough for Misa? I would have imagine SJ would have to think that one through.

It doesn't matter where in the draft those players were taken, that was a while ago. San Jose will have it's own views on them. I don't see them being targets for San Jose, they have such a broad group of high level prospects that it makes more sense for San Jose to focus on quality and take the #2 pick.

Misa had 62 goals in 65 games and 134 points and he just turned 18 on Feb. 16 ! Ya that might not be enough!! Haven’t seen anything special from Nazar and KK anyways! 🤷🏻‍♂️

-11 in 8 games is impressive, even for a hawk (I have no context at all though)
Four of those are just from empty net goals against.

The team as a whole has played like shit the last few weeks. Vlasic is our best defender, has been even when Jones was still here, and yet Vlasic is a -7 since Lev got called up. Lev and Vlasic have averaged the most minutes in those games, so they are taking the biggest hit with plus/minus.

I was mostly just being an ass. I’m a big fan of Vlasic. Gun to head, you can only keep one, Vlasic or Lev?

Lev. He's got legit 1D potential. Something of a mix between Burns and Doughty if he hits.

Vlasic is good, but he's more of a 2D. Less risk with him (seeing as he's already there), but Hawks gotta go with potential or we'll remain at the bottom.

Yeah I agree. But you have a good ine in Vlasic.

Just casually scrolling the thread now, I haven't watched Lev this year. I'm glad to see such positivity. Good players are good for everyone - it grows the game. I'm excited to see him play in the future. From what others have said lately, it sounds like the Hawks may have a great player on their hands. Flashy is nice, but effective is better. My feeling is that Lev is effective.
