Producing at ppg for the USNDP as a Defenceman. Small frame at 5'10 178. Any potential to be picked?
He's in the TSN top 60, so ya he'll get picked.
8 – RHD ADAM FOX (Harvard): Overly-impressive performance by the most skilled attack-minded blueliner the NTDP displayed. A Nassau County native who will attend Harvard in the fall, Fox was the offense’s lead quarterback during both even-strength and on the power play, but it was during the man advantage when he flashed both pro-level passing and excellent patience with the puck.
Would a swap to RW be a good idea for him?
I don't see why. He's an offensive defenseman who has plenty of time to work on his defense, which isn't even as alarmingly bad as Bean's.
This begs the question to me then; why is bean higher? assuming higher offesnsive upside in total.
When someone said his defense was bad I was thinking Justin Schultz/Mark Stuart bad, not like Del Zotto(?)
Bean is more decisive and doesn't second-guess himself as Fox, plus he has a better shot.
Bean's problems in his own end center on lazy passes. He needs that extra second to remain calm and think before blindly throwing the puck across the front of his own goal. I've seen games where Bean literally dumps it into his own slot from behind the net for no real reason.
Sandis Ozolinsh is a comparable. The good and the bad.
This guy has world-class hands for a defenseman.
Adam Fox should be there at 55-60. Rangers are dying for a prospect like him. Maybe Lucas Johansen or Ryan Lindgren but he's not as dynamic as Fox.
Leading D scorer in the U-18 and man can he move the puck.
A terrific playmaker from the back end with first-class vision and elite puck distributing abilities, Fox was Team USA's most consistent defender. He is yet another Nassau County native to grace the NTDP's blue line, using flair, creativity and astonishing puck control to wow onlookers and dizzy opponents all at the same time. He was beyond deserving of his nomination as top defenseman at the U18 worlds, which shows how far this kid has come since the start of the season when he was considered (and assessed) as merely a power play specialist. Nothing could be further from the truth, as Fox usurped fellow NTDP rearguard Chad Krys as Team USA's best overall defenseman and most reliable at generating offense.
