They have no drainage system

Does any stadium in Florida have drainage? Baseball specific. Marlins park has a retractable roof so not sure they set up drainage but even if they did they aren't using that park. I highly doubt any of the grapefruit or minor league stadiums do, just can't see the cost of that being worth it for those stadiums.

The rain is and isn't an issue i believe. Sure it rains almost every day in the summer months but it doesn't rain all day. So if you can be flexible with game start times you can get the games in. Not until late Hurricane season do you get total rainout days. The humidity will be the issue for the teams during the summer but they get a taste of that in spring training.

The silence is deafening. "tEh Tr0p Iz FiNe As iT iS!!11!!!1 No N000 StAdIuM" crowd has been real quiet since the roof got ripped off

Gentle reminder that all those folks can stick it

ironically, they should draw more fans now that the stadium is far more accessible than the trop

yankees get an extra handful of home games since the dimensions are exactly the same

They'll sell tickets for the novelty of the situation ar first, the capacity is only 11,000. Only a joke franchise like the Rays could do this to being with. Wait until people find out about the rush hour traffic near Tampa from the surrounding areas.

The inability to drive across a bridge to St Pete was always a lame ass excuse for attendance.

Also with the Florida heat/humidity and rain, we'll see how it goes.

I mean, there weren't many viable options. They were never going to play a season in Montreal or Portland or wherever due to the logistical hurdles. Steinbrenner Field has MLB amenities which is why they chose it, vs a college ballpark.

I think Olympic Stadium is actually going thru a renovation and is not even available this season anyway, logistical issues or otherwise it just couldn't happen
