Ray Shero passes away

Whitney for Kunitz
Goligoski for Niskanen and Neal
A conditional 3rd for Guerin
Traded a pile of nothing for Hossa and Dupuis

Didn’t like all his moves, but he and the people he surrounded himself with like Boterill and Fitzgerald and Guerin etc basically created the Pens culture that won 3 Cups.

Wow, usually this kind of news doesn’t take me aback this much. I mean after all, we never really know these individuals as fans. But as a big Penguins fan back in the early Crosby days Ray was always present and always felt just as much of a face as the franchise as Geno, Sid, Gonchar, etc to me back then. RIP Ray. Far too young

Only 62....I wonder if this was cancer....his father died at 65 due to cancer.

You hate speculating but you think if it was that it, it would have been known and he would have stepped down from his position with Wild as he fought it.

RIP Ray. Loved his personality when he was with the Devils.

His legacy for New Jersey can't be understated. Bratt, Hischier, Hughes. All Ray's picks. Masterminded the Hall trade(s).

Just horrible news.
Horrible indeed.

Picking Nico and Jack over Nolan Patrick and Kakko is reason enough to be a NJD legend. He did a great job here.
