WWE: Raw and Smackdown Part 5 the Paul Levesque Era

While I get the Uso reign wasn't much to talk about...does it not feel like this is just kind of ...rehashed history?

I felt the Gunther WHC run was kinda stale and a weaker version of his International Champion run without the length of it, and giving it back to him just seems rather redundant in terms of storytelling. You've kind of done a fair bit with Gunther already while he was WHC. Now you're just going to what, run it back again?

Eh. Feels like the whole WHC scenario isn't exactly that riveting. And having the Universal champion on Raw showing up from time to time also kind of sullies the whole title importance.

Just feels like a lot of these titles don't have much of a story behind them. Dom doesn't have anyone going right now other than the Balor angle which is a slow cook, Jey was mostly just dealing with Gunther, then some side hustles, then back to Gunther to lose, New Day isn't really doing a lot with the titles either other than gloat and not defend it (which is fine in itself being they're heels and all), Iyo just came off of the whole everyone is gunning for her and not respecting her, which was played a bit weird and didn't sit right with me, and yeah. Like, Raw's side of the titles are just stuck in the mud in neutral right now.

And you rehash Gunther as your champ? Why not just use that as one of the quickest ways to cash in the money in the bank and have Seth come and obliterate Jey after winning a second time.

I would have had Jey win, but Seth come in, cash in, demolish him, and have Seth win. Then you have Jey have something going with Seth for a bit, with Gunther still going around, where you can delve it into a triple threat at Summerslam or something.

Bah. I'm being picky. But the ending of the show kind of left a sour taste in my mouth.

It felt like that was the direction to go. Jey vs. Seth, then winner vs. Sami at Summerslam

Punk folded for Sweet Saudi Money lmao.

His reputation for running his mouth and acting self righteous is only matched by his propensity to sell out.

One of my favourite wrestlers of all time in terms of performance being a guy I watched come up from the Indies in the early 2000s, but I can 100 percent say I think that he is completely fake and generally bandwagons on anything trendy socially. I don't take any of his social pandering/slacktivism seriously.

My theory is that he is afraid of getting cancelled so he tries to play the feminist ally card. I'm not saying he did anything bad in his past but you can look at the kind of things he claimed to have done in interviews like the shoot interview that resurfaced last year and see how those sort of things might paint him.

Nah he's really just a loud-mouthed holier than thou douche bag. Talented and entertaining, no doubt. But still a douche.

Punk and Cena should recreate the finish to night of champions 2012, but reversed

25 minutes in, after trading finishers, Punk delivers an avalanche German suplex and gets a three count. But the ref announces that Punks shoulders were down as well, so it’s a draw.

He takes very specific social positions. One could speculate why based on his past. To me it comes off as super transparent what he is doing and to me it seems like he is trying to get people to perceive him a certain way. I don't buy it as being genuine.

He must be kicking himself over that tweet because the only way to save face over going to Saudi would be to donate his payoff.

For a married guy, he sure is still awfully friendly with the women's roster... He's dated at least four girls in the business.

I'm not going to shame him for pulling. Absolutely no hate on him for being a beast in his younger days. I'm also not going to speculate or accuse him of anything without proof. But we have stuff he himself has publicly said in shoot interviews (like the one that sort of gained traction last year but fizzled out). People have been cancelled for less. In terms of saying I wonder if he is afraid of being cancelled, I only am going off of things he has claimed to have done publicly, not e-rumors or angelfire webpage rumors.

So if that is how he was behaving in his 20s, and with the climate we have now, it comes off to me like he tries to paint himself as a feminist ally to shield himself. That's just my perception because it doesn't seem genuine to me.

I just roll my eyes at it.

Won't hear me complaining about Gunther being world champ again though I am surprised he straight up won and no cash in.

Gunther's crazy percentage of days being champion since signing with WWE continues.

I just noticed, Giulia's not in the tournament so I guess she is going after the US title, as hinted on Friday. I think that'll work out for her better.

Also neither is Bianca, so maybe she's not fully cleared yet?

I dunno which comments you're referring to.

Hilarious that he's now singing AJ's praises after just randomly taking shots at his character on Twitter five years ago with zero provocation.

That one open spot, I was thinking maybe EGA or Kross but apparently it's rumored to be Ilya.
