WWE and NBC are bringing back Saturday Night's Main Event.

WWE‘s iconic series “Saturday Night’s Main Event” has set its return premiere date at NBC.

Variety has learned that the pro wrestling series will air live on NBC and simulcast on Peacock on Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. ET. It will originate from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, N.Y., the site of the first-ever “Saturday Night’s Main Event” back in 1985.

WWE has also released the first promo video for the show, which can be seen below.

Presale for the event begins Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. ET. Fans can register to receive an exclusive presale offering now by visiting WWE’s website.

Tickets will go on sale Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster. Priority Passes are available now through WWE’s partnership with On Location. The passes offer things like premium seating, hospitality events with WWE stars, exclusive photo opps, and more.



This will be the first of four quarterly WWE primetime specials for NBC, which were first revealed when WWE signed a new five-year rights deal with NBCUniversal that saw WWE’s weekly “SmackDown” series move back to USA Network. “SmackDown” had been airing on Fox since 2019, but made its USA Network return on Sept. 13. Peacock also continues to be the live streaming home of WWE’s premium live events in the U.S., including upcoming events like “Bad Blood” and “Crown Jewel.”

“Saturday Night’s Main Event” originally aired in a late-night timeslot on NBC on weeks when “Saturday Night Live” did not have new episodes. It aired nearly 30 episodes on the broadcast network between 1985 and 1991. The show then aired two more episodes on Fox in 1992. It was previously revived at NBC for five more episodes between 2006 and 2008.

Eww. I guess when they said they were gonna do quarterly shows on the big network I was hoping they'd run SD in it's normal timeslot.

Those shows should be loaded though. Put Roman in a big singles match on the first one. Can't remember the last time he had a singles match on TV.

Nah, the SNMEs are more or less just more packed house shows Live Events. At least the last time they did them.

With all the international PLE's now, it's getting too saturated. Only a couple shows to set up a feud and then move on to the next one. Sucks.

If it sticks to the formula of the past I believe the shows were 90 mins long, there are more than enough storylines going on that you can squeeze out a show that furthers them, you have 2 mid card champs, 2 tag champs, 2 main champs, and then 2 women's champs, and a womens tag champ if they aren't defunct by now. There is plenty enough to go around for one extra show every 3-4 months.

Four SNME's probably means RIP to PPVs in the US/Canada, honestly.

They're already doing half of their PPV's outside NA. Those SNME's will be in NA to cater to US time zones for NBC.

"Obsession" was originally written and recorded as a duet by songwriter Holly Knight and musician Michael Des Barres in 1983. This version was played in the 1983 film A Night in Heaven, during a scene in which Christopher Atkins bumps and grinds in Lesley Ann Warren's face in sync with the rhythm of the song. The song was featured on the film's soundtrack and was also featured in the theatrical trailer to the 1986 film 9½ Weeks, starring Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger.

Props to WWE for trying to make the current Judgment Day a threat to the Terror Twins but imo, it's not working. Why? Because you got two pretty much comedic characters (Dom and Carlito), a character that is little known in JD McDonough and a superstar that has been misused for so long, it makes me wonder if he can be taken serious as a leader of a faction and/or threat to another main event star. Just end the Judgment Day .v. Terror Twins story now and move on. Judgment Day is no more a threat to the Terror than the L.W.O. was a threat to the n.W.o back in the day.
