red wings need a goalie and defense. We would trade ras + a couple defenders for a goalie or defense easily.

Ras + Maatta + Husso/Reimer + pick for Lindholm and markstrom? Would love to add more on red wings side if possible. Would be a great day if that happened.

Or exchange hanifin for lindholm. I don't know what other defenders are out there that have been openly okay to be moved and if there are some out there that are and mainly play a defensive defenseman role, I'm all for it. We have enough shooters on our defense, we need actual defense now.

Rasmussen has value just because he's a big body and NHL GMs will ignore the empty melon above that big body.

It's too bad he plays softer than a marshmallow and can't go more than a few shifts without randomly falling on his ass.

Huge Specimen 2.0, wouldn't make the NHL if he has been drafted by a real team.

Rasmussen has 43 points his last 91 games with only one of those coming on the power play. He’s a solid even strength and PK contributor. I doubt Detroit has any interest in trading him for a return that does not upgrade a position.

And plays like he's 5-9 170. Mobile is a stretch but his skating is passable for his size. He's been given multiple opportunities as a net front guy and failed to deliver. At 24 he's pretty close to reaching the apex of his development curve

Agree w/assessment this is a 4th liner w/size who skates relatively well for size but ceiling not looking past 4th line.
This can work for NY to make bone crusher 4th line of Rempe, Edstrom Ras.

we are now inclined to keep Trouba, but if cap forces our hand, that is a discussion for next season nmc->ntc.

I don't see the point in moving him unless someone is overpaying. He's disappointed but he looks like he'll be a solid bottom six player. He contributes at even strength as others have mentioned. Why move him for something like a mid round pick? Pointless.
