Smart choice. He's been in the league a while now and knows what it takes. The last few Sabres captains have been at the end of their careers, so they've got the leadership but were hanging onto NHL spots.... or in Eichel's case, way too young. Dahlin's got the ability to lead by words and example.

I'm excited about the captains. Dahlin was a no-brainer and I'm excited to see Samuelsson get one of the A's. He's been a leader everywhere he goes and even Ruff has brought that up already.

I remember an interview back when he was 17 or 18 and him stating, already back then, that he wanted to be a leader and a capitan. I thought it was quite a bit premature to have such aspirations that early. But he got what he wanted, and he deserves it as far as I can tell.
