Proposal: Rasmus Andersson for Trevor Zegras

Soft is the wrong word. He is undersized and skinny. He wants to play physical, but he is 5’11 180 on a good day. Brett Leason is 6’5 220 and plays soft hockey.
This is correct. He isn't overtly physical but he is chippy and generally doesn't shy away from contact. Soft is very much the wrong word written by someone who probably hasn't watched more than 2 minutes of highlights.

you literally changed the basis of your argument when I pointed out even Canes fans say they need a RHD from they don't need one, to other teams will outbid them.
Ok got it. Well, it is just my opinion, but I do not find them as contenders. I think they should just replace Burns , Orlov internally with Morrow, Nikishin and maybe try to fix other holes like goalie, more ofense depth, size...
Fixing everything in one summer is unrealistic.

Sorry, English is like my 3rd language. Weak is probably the right word. I see him trying, but he loses like 80% of his puck battles because he gets outmuscled.

I would do this one too. Zegras would give the Flames a much needed potentially high offence centre, the likes of which they haven't had in ions.

But given Anaheim seems to be stuck in perpetual rebuilding mode, they probably wouldn't. And in the same vein, Andersson probably doesn't re-sign there

The Zegras story in Anaheim is complicated. He wasn't a Verbeek draft pick and he held out a couple of years ago then got hurt. Verbeek has a very specific vision for building the team and it is unclear if Zegras is part of that vision. In the right environment, Zegras is a 70 point 2C who can make plays that few others even try. Problem is, we don't know if Anaheim is that environment anymore. So Verbeek has to make a decision heading into his RFA (with arbitration) year...does he give Zegras another chance with a new coach or does he move on? We'll know by draft day most likely.

As to the perpetual rebuild, the team is starting to play competitive hockey and improved about 20 points this year. I suspect next year that 85-90 points is not out of the question.

Finally, I don't think Anaheim should be trading key assets for players that are on the cusp of UFA status. Too much risk given the likelihood that they will resign elsewhere.

Anaheim is actually pretty close to exiting their rebuild. If they could figure out their special teams they would probably have challenged for a playoff spot this season

They have a few really good things going for them:
1) Dostal is one of the best young goalies in the league,
2) Lacombe emerged as a top pairing D, and they still have other talented young D showing impact potential
3) the last 30 games, Carlsson and McTavish were close to a point per game

If all those things are real, they will have the four most essential building blocks in place ... 1C, 2C, 1D, and G.

And of course they have one of the best D pools in the league, plus Gauthier, Zegras, and Sennecke up front.

You win games with Rasmus. You lose games with Zegras.

Flames should pass hard.
Zegras has such a bad rap with non ducks fans but it is literally the opposite with the Ducks. He has had some injuries so we have clearly seen the team with and without him and it is night and day how much better we are when he is in the lineup. To add to that, the coach was a horrible fit for him. There is a reason why ducks fans are never pushing for these trades and are consistently saying no. If he can get bigger and stronger and play with high skilled guys he could be a superstar.
