Absolutely showing how much Rants was a Mackinnon merchant.
That assist was pretty ridiculous. Threw it right between Georgiev's legs for an empty net goal from Drouin:
Beautiful passing play
Maybe. But I want to say there must have been with something with the thought that Rantanen really didn't want to play for the Canes. Especially his last game as a Cane he was super bad and looked unmotivated. Maybe the trade to Dallas is what he needed.Absolutely showing how much Rants was a Mackinnon merchant.
So the real race here is between Drury and Mikko![]()
True, he may have felt very betrayed.Maybe. But I want to say there must have been with something with the thought that Rantanen really didn't want to play for the Canes. Especially his last game as a Cane he was super bad and looked unmotivated. Maybe the trade to Dallas is what he needed.
Rantanen mentally weak confirmedTrue, he may have felt very betrayed.
Let's see how he does when entering a team on a positive note.
Would have fit in perfectly with the Oilers then.Rantanen mentally weak confirmed
Possibly but I think it was more of the style that Carolina played versus ColoradoAbsolutely showing how much Rants was a Mackinnon merchant.
So to summarize:
Rantanen for Avs 2024/2025 season
49 games played
25 goals (0.51 gpg)
39 assists (0.80 apg)
64 points (1.31 ppg)
Rantanen for Canes 2024/2025 season
13 games played
2 goals (0.15 gpg)
4 assists (0.31 apg)
6 points (0.46 ppg)
Necas for Canes 2024/2025 season
49 games played
16 goals (0.33 gpg)
39 assists (0.80 apg)
55 points (1.12 ppg)
Necas for Avs 2024/2025 season (ongoing)
14 games played
5 goals (0.36 gpg)
10 assists (0.71 apg)
15 points (1.07 ppg)
Now a brief comparison:
Rantanen for Canes/Necas for Canes (per game)
Goals: 0.45 (55 % reduction in goals)
Assists: 0.39 (71 % reduction in assists)
Points: 0.41 (59 % reduction in points)
Necas for Avs/Rantanen for Avs (per game)
Goals: 0.71 (29 % reduction in goals)
Assists: 0.89 (11 % reduction in assists)
Points: 0.82 (18 % reduction in points)
It’s fair to say Canes have done a big down grade. Rantanen simply haven’t managed to produce at the rate Necas did for Canes. Now they trade Rants for 5’8” Stankoven and (late round?) first round picks. This will really hurt the Canes. Did Rants even want to go to Canes? You almost get the feeling he intentionally played bad to get a trade. His drop in points production is just massive.
Avs may have done a slight downgrade short term, especially on goal scoring, but it’s noticeable however that Necas have already improved his goalscoring (gpg) after only playing 14 games for Avs. It may very well be that Avs will do just fine without Rants.
No I don’t think rants was bombing it. His metrics was fine his point production though took a hitSo to summarize:

Can't wait for his first Dallas game.Worth pointing out that Colorado and Dallas are both rush offenses while Carolina is as far away from that as you can get with pure offensive zone cycle/possession/shot volume.
Honestly that top line was trash most of the game save Mack’s ppgwgNecas with 1 point in a 7-4 win???lol
