Necas is benefiting playing with the best player in the world. Rantanen has to suffer playing with Oha. My condolences to Rantanen, that's a massive downgrade.

People who didn't watch Necas in Carolina + being surprised he's this good of a fit who are just outing themselves as hockey fans. He has the perfect combo of skill + skating to be amazing with MacK, Rantanen is f***ing fantastic but there's something to be said to be able to keep up with MacK as a skater and Necas is one of the few guys in the league who probably can keep up with him as a winger.

Year to date. Mikko with a game in hand. Mikko is used to keeping this kind of company and hopefully Necas gets used to it too as he's been in this tier for the entire season. His hot start got him to the top of it for a little while but his regression has him right in that top 10 convo. Hughes in the middle of a Czech Oreo.lol

Rants ppg will decrease slightly no longer playing with Nate and Makar.
Neces will increase slightly playing with Nate and Maker

With Nečas the main question is more whether he can learn to better use his size to be more effective in the playoffs when the going gets tough.
That and consistency. I love me some Necas and have always been one of his biggest defenders, but it’s no secret that he is capable of elite play and production like this, he just hasn’t been able to sustain it yet. I like the kid and hope he can do it with the Avs. Although at this rate will the Avs even be able to afford to keep him long term?

As a 'stan' I think he's starting to show he's figured it out. My views are very much up for debate though.

In roughly the last year...

He had 9pts in 11 playoff games
Torched the World Championships for a very rare Czech Gold medal (lower tier but he took a Czech team to gold)
Returned to NHL and was on top of the scoring race for several weeks
Is tied for top 10 today

He basically has had one shitty period in the last 10 months or so. 11 days in December. The rest he's been very good.. playoffs, worlds, regular season for Canes and regular season (small sample) for Avs.

Regarding cap - they got another year to figure that out. At 6.5 he's a bargain IMO. And cap is going up to 113 or something like that. His timing may get him very rich.lol

That's Necas since February 1st of last year. His last calendar year is quite consistent.

That is the last playoffs he was in

My math shows 98 games and 91 points combined. Not bad!

And that was the gold medal run that he was our best forward on (and we had Pasta and Zacha on that team). I know World's aren't that important to most but if you've been watching Necas for the last 365 days like I have been.. you're seeing a guy that is figuring out his inconsistency pretty good!

103 Games (Regular season, NHL playoffs, World Championships) for 103 games and 98 points. No matter how you slice it... he's been around .9ppg for a solid year now.

This is the post I came here to find. Necas is unbelievable. He has it all. Speed, shot, vision. And he is a puck hound.
