The caterwauling is insane as far as the hockey world is considered when it comes to the Hurricanes. Necas only had one more season of team control and rumors were flying for years that he wanted to play elsewhere. The Canes made the best out of a difficult conundrum.

I think this deal ends up very underwhelming for Carolina. I also don't think it's Marchment, Dallas needs some checking type forwards.

Granlund seems like a Hurricanes type of player. I agree about Stankoven too

Yeah i agree but Rantanen would have to be willing to sign right after for it to be worth it for Dallas. Just don’t think Dallas would give up a Red hot Robertson either and for Carolina I’m not sure Robertson would fit Rod the bods system well.

Whoever knew about the trade agreement in either organization leaked it (I’m guessing Rant’s agent). Carolina probably gave Dallas permission to talk to Rantanen, and they are probably talking extension before this wraps up. Trade call will probably be in the morning, there might not be anyone at NHL HQ to answer the phone.

Its pretty bad. Canes NEED a finisher/sniper; thats been the achilles heel in the playoffs when no one can finish. Stankoven and Bichsel is not it.

If it's happening it's like Dadonov , younger roster players that aren't the big guns , picks and other prospects. I can't see Stars moving Robo , Hintz , Johnston or Harley . They're the ones carrying the team. Also no defensive roster player going back like Bichsel because we're paper thin on defense and can't afford to lose anyone back there right now.
