Corey Pronman updated his top 160 players and it ain't pretty for the Rangers future if you think it's accurate.

Miller from 76 to 72.

Othmann from 110 to 102.
Berard from not ranked to 110.
Chytil from 48 to 119.

His Top 10 are:
1. Svechnikov
2. Jack Hughes
3. Raymond
4. Zegras
5. Quinn Hughes

This is what the tear it all down and Rebuild and play the kids….anyone over 22 is over the hill crowd was pining for.

Looks like Kyrou just missed the age cutoff

9 in the top 160 not too bad.

So of the top 120 players, 9 are ours (our lowest-rated is at 119). If talent was distributed equally, everyone would have 3.75 players in the top 120. I'd say that we're in good shape, simply from the standpoint of quantity. Obviously there are concerns there with guys like Chytil, Kakko, and Lafreniere.

Fox and Lindgren are both 23, so two good assets right on the cutoff.

I haven't checked out the list yet but Pronman always favors younger, unproven guys over guys who have shown more but whose ceilings have maybe dropped a rung or two. Not sure if that's the case here but it usually is with him.

The obvious issue is the direction most of the youth is heading, at least in his opinion.

I'm still hopeful about Lafreniere, but I'm losing a bit of faith in Kakko. One game in last 20 where he scored a goal? Yikes.

im not sure i really agree with his opinion. How is miller ranked lower than jones? How did Schneider drop so far?

obviously laf and kakko havent had ideal starts but kakko should still be ranked higher too.

Pronman's continual ranking of Jones over Miller every time he's analyzed the Rangers prospects has always smacked of a massive blindspot to me. Miller is 21 and in his second season of top 4 usage in the NHL. Jones is only 9 months younger, so they're close in age, and he has yet to establish himself as an NHL player. I like Jones a fair bit but he's significantly behind Miller at this point in their careers and I think it's a long shot at best of Jones every being a better NHL player than Miller.

Pronman does good work but he has his blindspots and biases. He's partial to undersized players with a lot of skill and he undervalues things like size and physicality as well as fit in the NHL. There's no way Jones (who I like a lot) should be higher than Schneider let alone Miller on this list. He should be ranked comparably to Nils but instead he's 30+ spots ahead of Nils.

Kakko should also be higher. His stats still aren't where they should be, but he's a better player than a number of the guys ahead of him on this list and his play has been continually improving.

Seeing Dahlin at number 7 should be a good indication not to take this list too seriously. With a bunch of our kids dropping, not sure what he's done to stay in the top 10.

I absolutely disagree that Kakko is currently improving. He improved tremendously from year 1 to year 2. I don't think he looks better this season than last season.

Pronman may have a bias towards undersized players. I have no idea, but 6 of his top 10 are not undersized players.

He's near elite offensively and poor defensively. His D should improve and if it does he becomes a contender for the Norris trophy.

Truth be told, power-ranking-type lists such as this one is worth no more than the paper you wipe your ass with while on the toilet. Who cares? I bet the players get a good chuckle out of it. The only one that matters a lick is Central Scouting Bureau's.

Wouldn’t put much into this garbage. Yeah.... I stopped reading when he said Zegras has only average puck handling skills.

This stuff is scrutinized too much. Personally I’m just enjoying the ride. These guys will get there…some faster than others. Some will surpass expectations. Some will fall short. That’s life.

I must admit feeling a little disappointed by some, but on the other hand others have exceeded the expectations. At the end of the day we're still ahead of the curve in what my expecations were, so let's all embrace the message of this post.

Enjoy the ride!
