Went with Wood again. I like his upside a little more than Geertsen.
add Heard or Corbett.

I voted for Geertsen, I thought he made a lot of progress last season and seems to have really great character from what I've read. I would add Rendulic or Roman Will next.

From an unbiased point of view, the Pioneers by far have the best color combination and uniforms in all of college hockey. UND is second.

Looking at that list makes me realize how bad our prospect pool is. Not much significant help on the horizon.

When your 9th prospect is Mason Geertsen, it can't be that bad can it? We lack top prospects but we have decent depth.

Voted Geertsen

I think when all is said and done, our prospect pool will resemble San Jose's quite a lot. We won't turn out too many all stars, but we'll generate a lot of character depth players through our drafts. Which is what this franchise needs most anyways.

We need to build around Duchene/MacKinnon/Landeskog/ROR/EJ/Barrie/Varly with strong defensive defenders, checking line and shutdown forwards and some complimentary scorers. And those are the exact types in the pool right now.

If we could hit a homerun on one of the Euro signings and 1-2 of our goaltending prospects, we'll have some depth and value in our pool to support deadline rentals as well to address cup run needs.

Add Pepin imo. (Also funny to see Malone still listed in our prospect pool on HF).

And 4 of your top 10 prospects are defensemen taken in the last two years.

The pool has been thinned by some weak picks and graduating stars early to the NHL. The pool rebuild has to start somewhere. I like the signings and the draft the last two years is looking decent so we'll see where it goes. It's an improvement to no longer be hanging on to prospects like Malone, Olver, etc.

It doesn't help when players like MacKinnon, Landeskog, Duchene and O'Reilly all make the team in their first year.

Sure we don't really have the best prospects but all those key guys are the same age as the guys being listed now. We're pretty set for the future.

I understand early graduation and rebuilding the pool from close to zero. My point is that we have no prospect really close to the NHL. Nobody can step in if we trade a vet and none of those prospects have great trade value themselves, hence the poor prospect pool. Our 2010 and 2011 1st rounders should be those guys but there not right now.

I wonder where we stand in terms of prospect pool ranking? Probably below average.
