3. Giovinco
4.Auston Matthews
5. Kyle Lowry
6. Marcus Stroman

Giovinco is essentially the Gretzky of the MLS (i.e greatest player in league history). No way Donaldson is above him if we're comparing relative to their leagues
MLS is to football what the AHL is to hockey.

The best-ever athlete in a minor-pro league is nice, but it's really not all that much.

I'm just sticking to current players of teams sports to avoid confusion. This is in terms of importance to the city/team (as Giovinco would probably slot lower based on global talent)

1. Derozan (MVP nominee. Leader of the best team in the East. Definitely not MVP though)
2. Donaldson (he exits soon)
3. Matthews (he will be king soon)
4. Giovinco (best player the MLS has ever seen)
5. Lowry (cmon hes been a perennial NBA all star. Put some respek on his name)
6. Sanchez (Cy Young contender, All Star, and ERA champ...and he's only 24)
7. Andersen (our MVP this season)
8/9. Nylander
8/9. Marner (these two always seem to share the same stat line)
10. Stroman

Matthews and Tavares occupy two of the top 3 next year :sarcasm:

I guess this is Team Sports.
Also, it is not just the league but the Sports.

1. Derozan probably should be #1 due to his current season.
2. Andersen b/c of his current season
3. Matthews bc he is Matthews.
4. Smock-due to his last season
5. Osuna-despite his struggles, he is still at the top of the MLB.
6. Donaldson
7. Reilly
8. Stroman
9. Lowry
10. Kadri

Not going to have Giovinco bc he is the best player in the league but that league is not even top 10 leagues in the World.
Same with anyone from the Argos.

Giovinco? How many leagues are superior to MLS?

If he’s in it, my 8 year old daughter should be on the list - she dominates her novice basketball league far more than he dominates MLS. Whines less, too.

For me it’s JD. Not just an MVP candidate, he won the award and may have done it again last year had he not been injured.
