I think Canada 2014 win because of their D. Even if they faced a prime Hasek he'll still give up a goal or 2. Canada's D in 2014 was just about impenetrable.

1. 2014 Canada
2. 1998 Czech Republic
3. 2010 Canada
4. 2006 Sweden
5. 2002 Canada (I didn't really like the team, they played only one good game in the whole tournament.)

For me it’s hard not to be a homer and not understand what the 06 gold means to us so Sweden’s gold will always come first and especially with the GWG by Lidström set up by Forsberg and Sundin (three Swedish legends and three of the best players we have ever had).

Next I’d say
Canada 2010 (winning against US in an intense OT)
Czech Republic 1998
Canada 2002
Canada 2014 (that game was just sad)

It's funny that you quoted only this post and not also the post right above it.

I think 35 >'s tips the scales towards bias more than a list that is just as easily backed up as any other list.

I think it's Canada 2014 then the rest is a too close too call.

Toss up between 2002 and 2014.

The 2002 team was stacked. Historic performances by Sakic, Mario, and a one-legged Yzerman. But the 2014 team had the best defense I've ever seen.

You canadian guys have too much sentimental value on that 2002 team players. It was very much beatable team by other nations even thou they won the gold its not better than the czechs or 10,14 canadas. Sweden blew them out 5-2, they barely beat Finland and Germany and drew with Czech. That Canada 02 should be ranked 4th or 5th in the olympic winners. Czechs 98 were like rock and Canada 2014 unbeatable and 2010 just damn good. Sweden barely won and didnt play great at all in 2006 and even lost deliberately to avoid playing other teams so theyre bottom of the barrel aswell.

Absolutely. That efensive squad was insane. When you bench a guy like Subban because you can do without him, you have depth. A lot of it.

In terms of play

2014
2010
2002
1998
2006

In terms of "meaning/importance" for me:

2010

2014/2002

1998
2006

2002
2014
2010
2006
1998

Its hard to bet against Sakic, Lemeuix, and Yzerman. No one on 2014s team will ever be as good as them. Overall, 2014 hada the best overall defense corps but none of them individually will ever come close to a Pronger or a Niedermayer.. Doughty and Keith wish they could skate like Niedermayer...

2014 Canada (Incredible team, one of the best ever)
1998 Czech Republic (Hasek was godly, and they were stacked)
2002 Canada (Amazing roster, slow start)
2006 Sweden (Very well balanced group)
2010 Canada (Same as above)

Entertainment value, 2010 Team Canada. In terms of dominance, 2014 Team Canada; we may not see such a dominant team again for a long time.

I think that those two games, Canada-Russia QF and Canada-USA GMG in 2010, are two of the best I've ever seen. A dominant win over Russia is something that really takes the tournament even higher.

Ya, that was a dazzling display of speed, skill and finesse....
