Rank the eliminated teams

but the options are wonderful aren't they?

How does one manage to have $95m worth of players where as soon as one player is out, for example... like a Hintz, would the Stars have a 1000 game NHLer ready to come in and fill his shoes? Or are they stuck with an inexperienced Mavrik Bourque?

Only a team that is circumventing the cap would have the luxury of choosing its players and have little to no impact if one of your players gets injured... ahh Hyman got knocked out? Phew, good thing Ekholm is stepping in right on time

But seriously if you really can't comprehend this basic logic... we'll just wait until one of your rivals do it, and i'll explain it again to you and you'd agree
are you still talking about LA losing?

Wasn't Florida, Dallas, and Toronto also over the cap with LTIR players returning in the playoffs?

McFly you don't even understand the concept of injury, so let it go

You don't need to argue with me, your McDrais are in a great position, just enjoy your day bud

I can guarantee I understand the concept of an injury much better than you considering I work with musculoskeletal injuries every day.

So there you go, the McDrais weren't playing injured and banged up. They were healthy. Good that we finally understand each other.

I never once said they were? I said they missed time at the end of the season, as many on the roster did, and that they hadn't had their playoff roster together at any point in the season. Which is true considering Kane missed the whole year, Frederic's 2nd game as an Oiler came in the playoffs, and various other new guys like Klingberg and Walman missed games down the stretch.

I have Carolina #1 because their best player Aho is one of the few NHL'ers who could be employed as an elf in a Mall Santa's village and it not be inherently creepy.

Haven't thought about the rest
Got me thinking. Cole Caufield could be Mighty Mouse.

When you have a $95m roster, you won't be able to dress your playoff roster during the season bud, no sheet sherlock

Vegas too, just couldn't ice the entire damn team even if they wanted to

Was going to make a list but realized I hadn't watched all of these teams play. But did watch Jets and Leafs games and am pretty confident in saying Jets>Leafs in 6.

I don't know which team was best, but Toronto definitely earned the most amount of respect in the handshake line, that's for darn sure.
Handshake Champs...team rings are on order...

This is idiotic when people say since team X gave better fight for the eventual champion, then that team is also a championship caliber team. It doesn’t mean a shit. People understand … Stanley cup is a marathon run. Keeping up with the winner for the first 5 miles doesn’t mean you can be good for next 20 miles. 2011 Bruins win Habs in OT and the series was so close. Does that mean that Habs teams is No 3? Winning championship is all about stamina, sacrifice, overcoming adversities and elevating your game to the next levels. So you never know LA would beat vegas or Dallas. Same thing you never know Toronto would beat Carolina.

As they stood at time of elimination:

1. LA
2. Dallas
3. Leafs
4. Colorado
5. Carolina
6. Winnipeg
7. Vegas
8. Tampa
9. Washington
10. Minnesota
11. Ottawa
12. St Louis
13. Montreal
14. New Jersey

If they were healthy:

1. Dallas
2. LA
3. Leafs
4. Tampa
5. Vegas
6. Colorado
7. New Jersey
8. Carolina
9. Winnipeg
10. Washington
11. Minnesota
12. Ottawa
13. St Louis
14. Montreal

Plus their Parade Planning team is said to be the hardest-working the League, with a veritable library of designs just ready to go much like Prince's vault containing thousands of unpublished songs.

Any team that doesn't win the Stanley Cup ties for 31st. Or "2nd," if you want to be kind.
This is the NHL way. I get it, but basically by this logic, 31 teams each year are “losers”. That’s a lot of negativity and doesn’t celebrate success of teams that deserve credit.

Making the playoffs is an accomplishment, winning a playoffs series is an accomplishment, making a conference finals is an accomplishment and winning a conference of is a huge accomplishment. That should be celebrated more. I mean they are the ‘champs’ of their conference.

I feel bad for Carolina and Dallas being shit on by all the trolls, 28 other teams would LOVE to be in their positions.

If there was a bronze medal series, who would win it?

1. Toronto
2. Dallas
3. Las Vegas
4. Tampa Bay
5. Carolina
6. Winnipeg
7. Washington
8. Colorado
9. St Louis
10.LA
11. Minnesota
12. Ottawa
13. Njd
14. Montreal
Dallas shouldn't be that high. LA shouldn't be that low.

So this is the thread where we evaluate who got the most respect in the handshake line?

There's at least one team that rates clearly higher than anyone else on this scale.
