The Rangers catch a break, but they have been way too lackadaisical with their decision making. Hopefully they start to push.

GMs are getting smarter. Also, in a salary cap world, younger players who can produce on ELCs (or are cost-controlled) are becoming more and more valuable.

If a contending team has a late pic, they will make a trade to push them over the hump.
That will never change..
