I wasn't asking for them, I'm a graphic designer also and contacted getty images but they responded back with the answer "the images are only for editorial use, with no option for personal use." I was just simply looking for some advice.

I understand. There are options for high-res images you can snag for free. TheBreakaway.net has an entire thread where they're posted, for example, and Yahoo! Sports can often post high enough resolution images that you could create player cuts from.
