right on cue 2 posts citing David Quinn, wenevergetagoodcoach indeed

Perry's been doing this for 15 years.
And the refs keep falling for it. It’s a joke. But even worse in this scenario bc Reaves did absolutely nothing. No punch, no slash, not nothing. Barely even a hit. It’s like the ref turned around and saw Reaves make contact with a player and immediately called it.

Seriously, that call is so bad that this ref should be spoken to.

Rangers need an increase in their ‘give a s***’ factor because they just played a full 20 minutes where they clearly did not.

Coaches matter in the locker room, but overall I agree
I think they matter a lot in terms of motivation and atmosphere, and a fair amount in getting a team to buy in to whatever system is being run.

But there's a reason the team plays mostly the same this year compared to last.

Hopefully, one day we're gonna get a real coach that knows how to deploy players and has an actual system.
Gallant is as real a coach as anyone is going to get. It's not Gallant, it's the players. We resigned Zib, so we can't do anything there, but we need more turnover ASAP.

when are we going to address the dryden hunt playing top 6 situation? dudes been basically stapled to panarin and hes got 7 points in 31 games.

Yeah i mean the overall "passing" mentality they have starts with Fox and Panarin unfortunately. Panarin is at his best when hes shooting every time he gets the puck, and Fox's play has dipped because hes easy to defend when the other team knows hes not going to shoot.

Its like everyone who gets to this team forgets everything they ever knew about hockey. It's not just Gallant, or Quinn, or AV, or Torts, etc. It's everyone. How can 2 completely different coaches come to the same conclusion that a nothing grinder is the answer in the top 6 for Strome and Panarin? I've said it before, but if the players are the ones asking for it, they need to be told they aren't f***ing good enough to dictate the lineup, or trade them. Your not here to collect a paycheck and enjoy New York City. Your here to win, or else leave.

We need to get shutout a couple of times before Panarin is humbled into playing with better players that can make plays instead of useless 4th line plugs that gives him and Strome time to suck each other's dicks on the ice. Zibanejad was a product of Buchnevich. OOPS!

Gallant isn't much different from Quinn. Gallant is the one rolling out these lines shift after shift that just don't work. Hunt shouldn't be a regular in the lineup, let alone a staple of the top 6.

It's not about 'getting more pucks to the net'

It's about being 'setup' to get 'pucks to the net' . There's no space created for the players.

What I feel like I'm watching is a Football team that just tells it's Offense... don't worry about X's and O's... just go make a play. I don't know where or who you're blocking, or what route you're running.... lets see what happens.

There needs to be more structure in the system. There needs to be intent. Players need to serve a purpose with or without the puck. 'Winging it' doesn't work against good NHL teams.

Night after night, this team is put in a position to fail by it's coaching and management.

Hunt shouldn't be the only option. We don't have other options, that's the problem.

We need to move Strome, Chytil, Kravtsov asap.
