Did anyone else think Nash was having a skate problem tonight?

Some very uncharacteristic moments from him that I can only imagine was an equipment problem.

I wondered about that myself on that play when he chased the puck in and just completely wrecked himself. It looked almost dangerous, like one of his legs just stopped but the other one didn't get the memo.

Miller and Kreider come out huge, and the entire team is inspired by the play of a couple of rookies.

Hank plays out of his mind, gets his confidence back, and reverts to near last year form. Not quite Vezina quality Hank, but more than close enough.

They gut out a win here, get Girardi back, get Cally back, and the team take off like a rocket, with the PK improving, and the powerplay getting out of the bottom 10 in the league.

You heard it here.

The defense was pretty awesome tonight. Staal now ties Del Zotto for the team lead in points amongst defensemen - Marc's probably been our best all-around defenseman so far.

Boyle should be shaking in his skates after the way Miller has played the past two games. The additions of Miller and Powe, along with the return of Cally and Kreider, really gave the team a much needed injection of energy and youth. This was the first time all year that this team looked like they were on the same page and had an identity.

Also, shoutout to Hank, he had one of his best starts of the season.

Real good jump tonight - guess they got the message. Super game from Miller, McD, Kreider, Stralman, Staal, Hagelin, Pyatt, many others. Oh, forgot Gaborik, he stopped reading his press clippings and skated. Though it was close, they really controlled this game and if they keep playing like this, they'll be fine.

Biggest problem - Derek Stepan. Skating is awful, won't shoot the puck, pretty good on the PK, but we have lots of good PKers.

Nash looked awful, but I really attribute that to him having to do everything by himself.

Oh, and I think the defense is set when Girardi comes back, but you can't play Stralman with MDZ, not physical enough. But Stralman is looking like a Top-4 defenseman.

Ryan Callahan is my favorite player. This is set in stone, it's been for a while. If I'm not paying attention too closely, and we score, I'm hoping it's Cally.

Tonight, I was hoping it was Miller every time we saw a chance. That's how good this kid's played, that's how much I like his play style.

Highlight of my night:

Walking into MSG and hearing Boyle was a healthy scratch.

PS. Go Miller!

I hate to be the person who brings up how much it sucks to lose a player and how nice he would be on this team........

BUT how nice would Brandon Prust be right now for that 4th line? A line of Prust-Halpern-Powe? That's what a 4th line should look like. And then everytime they score we can say "You down with HPP. Yeah you know me!".

That's me in my perfect world scenario.

Just got back from the game. Had a great time and I mistakenly jinxed the **** out of the shoutout.

Was I the only one complete confused as to why Nabokov was pulled while they were still in their defensive zone?

it did not seem like a smart move, but I could see them just wanting to get the guy out there and break into the offensive zone with 6 guys, but instead it was intercepted right away.

I am so happy the Rangers got this win! Now need to get prepared because a win on Sunday night is necessary!

I really like what Pyatt and Powe bring to the ice. Guys you want to have around. Miller looks like this year's Hagelin. Opportunistic sparkplug.

And having Miller around will help Hagelin and Kreider grow up faster. Remind them they're not rookies anymore. Lead by example.

Let's not make it sound like Hagelin is down in the dumps so far this season.

Damn, JT. What a game.

I was sitting right next to the press box, talk about depressing. I'd look over every time the Rangers scored and just see deadpanned Andrew Gross, Larry Brooks, and Pat Leonard. I understand they can't cheer, but how bout a smile guys? ;)

Also, Katie Strang is a ****ing babe. Pat Leonard one lucky dude probably sits next to her every game.

Had an awesome time at the Garden tonight. Great game to be at.

I can tell you who played right defense for the Rangers in 1962, how many saves Rogatien Vachon made against the Rangers in 1967 Game 4 of the first round (56) and Ron Greschner's birthday (12/22/54). But who the h**l are Katie Strang and Pat Leonard? Doesn't Pat Leonard play for the San Antonio Spurs?

Haha I love this post!

Katie Strang writes for ESPN, more specifically, ESPN NY. And Pat Leonard writes for the New York Daily News.

thanks (and BTW, the right defenseman was Rod Seiling #16).

I will check her out on ESPN - I'm married, not to mention old, but as they say, I may be on a diet, but I can still look at the menu.

We found a gem in Stralman. Coming up he was supposed to be a great player. But he was a late-bloomer on a bad Columbus team and got absolutely no chance in New Jersey. Now we're seeing some of what he was supposed to be when he was drafted.

Stupendous pickup by Uncle Glen.
Was a big surprise last year, wasn't impressed this year until tonight. He brings needed creativity and understated size. They have him listed at 5-11, he has to be near 6-1. Was clearly taller than listed 6-0 Adam Henrique in the game the other night.

I think it's been said before but I'd like to see Boyle in over Asham next game. I know he's been pretty bad these past few games but he at least can PK. I don't really see the value in having Asham on the ice. If things continue to go poorly for Boyle maybe we see Mash get a shot?

Anyways, JT looked great for his second game. Hope he keeps it up.
