Othmann is literally a jittery little kid rn.. watch his interview from earlier this week. Not surprised he's playing like this. Hopefully, he'll mature but I'm not the least bit surprised he's not playing with much poise.

Defenseman just completely left the net and went up by the top of the circle on that last goal no idea who it was

Depends. Can we rescind your horrible hot takes?
What horrible hot take? Everything I said about Othmann has been right so far. He needs to stop trying to be someone he’s not and that leads to dumb penalties. 3 penalties, 3 goals against, in 4 periods.

It’s a mini tournament that has no meaning and this is new for him. He’s obviously overwhelmed and green. Thankfully no one is going to nitpick this shit like some of the fans do.

no one is expecting him to be good in this tournament. The fact he is here says something about his progression which is good

Fun fact- he was like this in the Swiss league too. He had 64 PIM in 34 games. Not because he’s gritty, because he’s not very smart as a player

Completely forgot about the existence of Karl Henriksson ngl

Did you watch every game? Nope. Did you just watch some videos and look at a stat line? Yep. So no not a fact. Your opinion of this player is hilariously irrelevant. I trust the professional scouts over your hot take.
He took a dumb penalty nearly every game I watched him, mostly in the offensive zone. And I watched enough of him to formulate an opinion on him, not just a highlight reel and a quick glance at his EP page. I work in hockey. Othmann was not in my top 45, and guys I spoke to weren’t too high on him either. I really think he would’ve dropped to second round had we not taken him

I really like Cuylle’s game, it’s unfortunate he can’t play in the AHL. He’s going to bully the OHL

Jones was once again the Rangers best defenseman that period. Very poised.
I think his experience is a big plus for him. I wish Nils could of gotten some NA experience prior to now I think it would of done him some good. Not that he’s been bad or anything I just think that would of helped his progression.

really like Barron I was surprised by the way he plays. He definitely looks like a center with his style.

Schneider just makes the right play all the time. Think he is so steady. Will be a great addition to the defense very soon if not this season. Jones had a few bonehead give aways early. On the last penalty to Khoderenko, Jones had Schneider held the puck to long circled back and went cross ice which led to the trip. I really don't see what you see with Jones.

Oof that was another frustrating period. Othmann dumb penalty. Leads to a quick PP goal. Then, immediately after Reunanen follows a guy so far out of position in the D zone that everyone else scrambles leading to an easy tap in. He played a full year in the A. He's not that offensively talented that he can be that bad defensively. I don't even know what he was thinking as he's one of the older vets on the team.

On the bright side Lundkvist is far more assertive. Likely running around a bit, but assertive. You can see his skating and his skill and just a touch of his instincts. Yesterday he was really tentative by comparison.

Jones looks poised, but I think we have to rely on him offensively right now. He's keeping it simple. But he's got a lot more offense in his game. I'd like to see it.

The lines were shuffled for the beginning of the game -- they really just need to string a period together. The penalties are killing them. And the power play is not good.

The period was so disjointed, barron and rest of his line really didn't make much of an impact.

That wasn't jones' fault. Puck hit Khoderenko on the tape but he was flat footed or caught off guard (as if he wasn't the open man). Khodorenko needs to be more ready IMO. I wish the kid had more grit to his game. He's like less talented Ryan Strome out there.

I’ve seen way to little of Othman to have an opinion of him nor did I follow the draft last year.

But honestly, you can be 100% right on him, but — nothing — can happen in a game like this that can prove you wrong or right. He takes many minors? He had 30 pims in 50 games in the OHL. He isn’t going to take 2.5 minors per game. I’ve literary never seen a hockey player that had significant problems with taking minors — following hockey for 30 years.

Just saying, you can’t go ‘look I told you so’ into a pre camp scrimmage.

Ok I’ll say look I told you so in 5 years
